  1. My point, the job is not going to change.
  2. If it's traumatic why bother, there is a possibility that so much is going on within the body that you are a waisting your time without the use of hospital equipment, but if you must try to work it go with ACLS just to cover your ass, less liability that way your medical director will thank you.
  3. Is it's the patients own morphine, because at least where I come from emt's can't give morphine, and why don't they call the medic for chest pain?
  4. Doctor Larmen is one of the most funniest guys in the world.
  5. California requires the NR for a state license, but you don't have to maintain it, thank god.
  6. well maybe, but not too sure.
  7. NO, this guy is DEAD!!!!!!
  8. Stupid vollies, do it for free and hurt ems, or move and get paid it's that simple. If people want to live in an area with no ambulance service and or very little resources well thats where they choose to be.
  9. I think the ? is how soon do you want to start making $$$$., is when you should go to medic school.
  10. I hope this guy gets his degree and mutiple millions of dollars.
  11. I say sue. sue for everything you can get.
  12. To the op, if you are in medic school, which program are you in?, and second who do plan on working for when you get out?
  13. I agree, I don't think ems is ever going to be a career climbing profession, but thats just my personal opinion, however I do think the vollies are a big problem with why ems is the way it is as far as standards and wages.
  14. Yeah maybe your right tskstorm, but he also mentioned home meds which emt's can assit with, I think there are only five meds though. Still makes no sense to me when iam on scene I don't let the emt's do anything but drive, less liability that way.
  15. To the op, why do you need to know about any drugs?, just asking because aren't you an emt?. As far as a Iam aware in your area emt's don't need to know anything about drugs even on 911 crews.
  16. Are you looking for a box or van?, and are you fire based or single role? and what about compartment space? do you need alot?
  17. Yeah your right, but we need more organizatins like we need more swine flu. We all ready have that joke of the NRemt do really need anything more. If anything we as ems need to get rid of the vollies and start making a standart at the field level first, even if it's just a cultral standard.
  18. Okay first thing first WHY would you want to leavs San Diego?, I mean it's like 70 degrees all year long and the surf is great.
  19. I suggest some corona and vicodine the night before and you'll be fine.
  20. I to have been associated with unions, and not in the ems industry. I do think very positive of them and think they help the worker and not destroy the industry whatever it maybe. I experience has been with the stage hand union fore LA and orange county California, and even though work was not that steady my dues got me some additional benifits as well as generous hourly wages, enough to work part time as a medic until the FD thing took off. So if unions are used well i think that EMS can benifit from them in other parts of the country. Again I work and iive in southern Cali so the IAFF is great for me current situation, but I do understand that is not the case for the rest of ems.
  21. I would suggest that if you stay with the current ACLS drugs, you should be fine.
  22. To the op, you said sync cardio, I would totally agree with given the example of distress in your fire couple of senteces.
  23. No just stating my opinion about the article homboy, chill out or can we do that anymore in the US, maybe not.
  24. why would they want to go the hospital anyway, the already have the coolest job in the world, let some $8.00 hr private guy run his ass off.
  25. damn privates they are making ems a mockering for the rest of us hard working folk.
