I have always felt they should have 'wet' and 'dry' counties in the states. Specific cities / counties where you can smoke it, and buy it out in the open. But have it like alcohol, you cant drive under the infuence of it. You can not sell it in the dry counties. And you can not have more then X amount on you at any given time. *ha.. As I type this, I can hear in the background that they are talking about it here in CA on the T.V.

It's sad to see it go to this. On the flip side, it's also sad that some people wait to call that really shouldn't. It will be interesting to see how it plays out

Dont bother. I sent him a message about my story, because in all honesty, I did totally misunderstand what he wrote. To say his reply was nasty and mean would be putting a positive spin on it. Thanks for understanding what I was trying to say. My tonsil bleed was nothing compared to this poor mans outcome, and about a million others. I was not trying to compete.

What is a RCMP officer? Was that someone he was working with? How sad, just sad. Last February I had a tonsilectomy that put me in the ER about a week later with massive hemorrhaging. The blood was puring out my nose, and my mouth, but I still did the best I could to thank the medics who rushed me to the ER...

Ive seen some local fire trucks around here at Subways, KFC, and the such. I wonder just how wrong, i.e. funny, it would be if one of these trucks pulled up at KFC with the PETA ad on the side...lol And I just have to say that meat is muder.................... Oh I know. We are not 'rich' by any means. We used to be very very comfortable back when I was working. But, my job was one of those lost about 2 years ago now, at the top of the fall of the economy. Its been tight, but doable. We have been incredibly lucky to be doing as well as we have been, esp. in Nor Cal..lol I have a neighbor that just found out on New Years eve that his job is gone, poof, no more. He came over earlier today just freaking out. Its so scary...

All the other EMT / Paramedic options are wide open! This is the only school that I even know of as being 'full', let alone, with a waiting list. Im not a huge fan of California either. But my husband adores it here, and all of his family is here. So, Im kinda stuck. But, on the flip side, he makes $46 an hour as a union floor layer, and that is not possible in any other state. So, there is good, and there is bad. But it could always be worse, and I will work with what I have

I have been going back and forth between schools, people, and with myself as to what to do. I found out that CCSF has two options, either a straight Cert. for Paramedic, or where you can earn an Assoc. of Science for Paramedic studies. I called today, and finally go ahold of someone at CCSF (actual program head honcho for the Paramedic dept.) and found out that the Paramedic program is infact full, and not accepting applications for two years. I knew this program was good, but damn!! lol Plus, she really strongly suggests, recommends, etc., to be a working EMT, or have worked as an EMT for atleast 6 months. Sooooooo I am going to start much sooner then I expected, like in 3 weeks rather then 6 months. I will earn my Assoc. of Science degree here at the school I am closer to. Then next year during the summer, I will get my EMT-B taken care of, and finish up my degree. Then I can have another summer off school, or atleast time off, and work as a basic. Crossing fingers that by then, they will be open, and testing, and I can get into the Paramedic there, combine the two, and earn my Major in Paramedicine. To even get your foot into the door for CCSF you have to be almost invited, and have atleast two letters of recommendation to be allowed to test! I am going to bust my ass to make this happen and work. Plus, she said that it will bump up my pay bracket! And so, it has been decided..lol

How sad... I really wonder how this will end. Poor guy loved his job soo much too!

I dunno hun, but, I know you will get a lot of great answers. I am still just learning, so I tend to ask questions on other peoples threads ..

This is probably a no brainer question, but, can you request LEO's to follow you to the hospital just 'in case'?
