In San Diego unless you work for rural metro the pay is pretty horrible but cough AMR cough is always hiring. California still has county cards.

The only Useful advice now sense you take it tomarrow is relax tonight and dont stress over it you'd be suprised at how much you actually remember.

basically take how ever much a year you think a fast food fryer makes a year and substract double that from $0 and walah but fear not for you truelly will love your job,i know i do,as the shirt,sticker, etc says ems the hardest job youll ever love. the pay sucks,most of the time the hours suck,alot of times the patients are rude as hell but guess what youl love what you do,is it worth it, that all is up to you.

I go to american river college, they have a paramedic prgrom which I talked to the director who said that I can start the 12 month program next spring, which I'm very excited about,and as long as I can get both of my jobs to work with me all will be good,but yes I need both jobs to pay for living expenses,which trust me isn't all that much,I just hardly make much,and once I start the program my fin aid will go up to about 3800 a semester so thanks for all the tips guys I'm so excited to start paramedic school,this fall I am taking pre paramedic classes and a and p again then on too starting paramedic program,woo hoo!

I get about 2000 from fafsa,and one job i work is at an ambulance company but its sort of perdiem weekends only so itd work but my other job would never scahedule around it,well hopefully AMR will pick me up and let me come work for them

So I am going to go,I just was wondering ,going to school 7-5 everyday,how do you afford school and bills? i work two jobs and go to school now but i only go twice a week any tips?

yes yes but! sense all require me to be 21, except amr and the event company I work for its quite hard.

sort of except this time its more about jobs all over and actually asking not just complaining haha your right though

Emt-b jobs available for an emt-b under 21 that pays decently,enough to support myself perferablly in northern cali,but I wouldnt mind moving,even far, as of now i work at a grocery store during the week and on weekends work for an event medical company which i just started and I am sure I will enjoy but i want a ems job for the week,not just event medical thats only when events come up,so if you know anywhere thats hiring please let me know .Thank you.

So Friday I have my first interview and I know the basics like wear nice attire,talk in a professional manner and do not use words such as uh,umm,and like, also be nice and friendly,make sure I have a copy of my resume and certs and such but what other tips can you give me to assure success, also does anyone know how much event medical emt's(basics)in california make?

I have been looking around for EMT work pants but i really can only find them online,does anyone happen to know where i could go in store and find some i really do not want to order online because finding pants that actually fit is quite hard for me sense im a male size 28,32 any stores that you know of? particularly in california around sacramento, i have tried a few uniform stores like life uniform and uniform advantage but they just carry scrubs and such. Dear FloridaStudent, a few things I've learned when considering ems agency as I am currently very active in talking to the staff of all the different ones in my surrounding area,california, to concentrate on is finding which agency gets the most calls or even which ones get to do 911 calls because, atleast in my area are all by contract and only one agency,amr to be exact has the 911 contract and almost all the rest which there are multiple do transport and well transport isn't exactly what I want to do all the time, I think you should just talk to employees of your surrounding areas of different agencys and see which suites your personal wants in work envirment and type.

Thank you guys for all the advice and such,I have found one lead so far .but its only part time.and so id still need to find another job but I'm very excited and hopeful,I have applied at all the hospitols in my are only on is currently hiring an er tech the others all require emt-2(paramedic) to work there. But hopefully that one calls me back I am looking forward to the oppertuniuty I have been givin and hope I can impress the company. Ok so i Just got my county Certification In california,Sacramento to be more Specific, And im 19 Years old and i really would love to start working I Have had a job sense i was 16(this job is not in the healthcare field) consistantly hard worker, Ive applied to every ambulance company in Sacramento approx. 6 but there are a few i ignored and some i applied to even though they said the same thing as the others..... must be 21 or older.... now this really is a downer to me, and none have called back or when i call just tell me the will get back to me theres nothing more i want to do then get on an ambulance and start working and helping people, but well voluntering is not an option for me, almost no agency accept volunteers and also i have to work to live i dont have parents. Please any assistance,tips ,advice, help on this would be amazing thank you.
