  1. No sense in making it harder than it has to be. Lock the darn doors.
  2. So, it sounds like they walked in, smelled a bad smell, and pronounced him dead from a distance. I'd sure like to see what the run report says about their evaluation.
  3. Dude, check them out! The more people we have watching and posting their thoughts here, the better. There are always things that Richard and others catch that I missed, so it helps us keep up with the plot subtleties. Like I said, it is getting better. Not that it could have gotten any worse.
  4. Again, better late than never. But now I'm all caught up. Discuss!! Back to the explosions again? Gotta admit that it was pretty cool when I realised the little kid was Rabbit! Kudos for that one! Did you notice that the ambulance that picked up Rabbit’s dad had Washington State licence plates? Glenn is still employed after the major screw up last week? Oh wait, that’s right; this is California. Nevermind. Good to see Kevin Tighe. Loved his discussion about the mouth-to-mouth and precordial thump, and other references to the past. I especially loved the part where he blames all the problems on the FD-EMS merger, ROFL! Yes Richard, I did like the look on his face when he realises Tyler is gay! He’s wearing a silver badge with gold collar brass, yet the other captain wears a gold badge with silver collar brass. Wassup with that? And uhhh… are there no lieutenants in this department? More helo first-response in the city. Cops didn’t have combatants separated at shooting/stabbing? I agree when the bimbo says “load and go” about the stabbing. However, it shows her scatterbrainedness that she does so right after ordering her driver to “clean and dress” the gunshot wound. It was an inappropriate order, even if they did have the time for it. Bimbo pissed off that someone finally stood up to her grandstanding. Glad that doc will be staying around. She should have relieved her of duty on the spot. At least she admitted her mistake in the end. Tyler talking about being paired with an EMT now that he’s a medic? Really? Right out of school? Oh wait, that’s right; this is California. Nevermind. Dianne has a sweet bedroom! Old retired medic gives a damn good speech about where a career in EMS leads to. I too almost expected him to turn out to be from Rabbit’s past. Gotta wonder if he is going to show up in upcoming episodes at all.
  5. Okay, finally watched it tonight. Better late than never. Are the fags on this show ever going to start shaving like real men? Enough with the metrosexuality already. How did the car stop itself after it hit the dear and the driver was dead? Why did they even start CPR on that traumatic arrest? Did they forget they were in a helicopter? More emotional break-downs after unsuccessful CPR? Give it a rest already! Wiping his hair and face with his gloves still on? I don’t think so. Tyler kissing pill bottles? WTF do they even keep in prescription pill bottles there? Sucking sound when injecting Epi (in a 5cc syringe)? Giving guy O2 without first evaluating him? Major fail. And like tcripp asked, why wasn’t the monitor in the backyard with the “difficulty breathing”? Epi for infarct? Then NTG? Didn’t he do exactly the opposite? Bimbo actually trying to convince the guy that he did the right thing when he actually killed the patient? WTF was this EMT practising protocol ALS for anyhow? Bimbo is just as culpable for this mistake both for allowing it in the past, as well as for sending an ALS patient off alone with an EMT partner. Both should be fired, sued, and prosecuted. We all kill someone sooner or later? Funny… I haven’t in 35 years. She must suck. Yeah… never heard of the “probie curse”. In fact, I’ve never even heard of a “probie” at all until last year. Didn’t even call for assistance on the guy who leaped from the ambulance. Helo responding to chest pain in the city? Glen kills one by playing medic, and he goes right back to doing it again? Why was he not IMMEDIATELY taken off the street? Marisa gets pissed off at new flight medic for being cautious, but then thinks it’s just fine when Rabbit does it? They’re screwing with her character again, and I don’t like it. New flight medic leaves pt on the pat without giving a report? Ummm… no spare LP batteries or AC power? They work on stabbing victim forever without ever removing his shirt? I really wanted to see the bi-sexual nurse. At least the shrink confirmed what I’ve been saying all along. Rabbit doesn’t have PTSD. Although, she still screwed up with that “rescue personality” nonsense, which has been disproven in recent literature. Agreed with scoobymedic though; good on Rabbit for going back to therapy. I didn’t recognise the shrink from Star Trek (didn’t watch Next Generation), but I did remember her as Klinger’s wife. We’re going to eventually see all the usual Asian actors on this show, I suspect. Rabbit’s dad was one of them.
  6. Well, I've missed the last two episodes, so I am a little behind here. I I just now watched them while waiting for the forum to come back up. But here's the exciting critique of tonight's episode: Ever notice that not a single emergency vehicle in the show is California law compliant with their lights? Cellphone picture taker at shooting scene, lol. That’s realistic! All these people standing around with the suspect outstanding, even cops. Field abx prophylaxis in California, lol. Not in our lifetime. They’ve just about broken Rabbit’s spirit. That too is realistic. Every big department does it sooner or later. Tyler bought himself a $300 Littman, lol. Whacker! Too lazy to put your vest under your shirt, where it belongs? You deserve to die. But at least it covers up those stupid badges. Shooting something out of Tyler’s hand is just way too formula. Doctor walking around in bloody surgical gown. Puhleeze… this is the 21st century. Regardless, I’m beginning to think I’d do her. I still wouldn’t touch the blonde bimbo with AK’s dick though. This is becoming like Star Trek. As soon as you see knew faces, you know they’re fixin’ to become casualties. Sniper wasn’t near as good as his equipment. Poor aim. Trigger jerk. Way to go, blonde bimbo. Just about got the cop killed. Hopefully she’ll lose her ticket next episode. Ambulance on scene with lights running, but engines off? Yeah, everybody does that. Putting a bulky dressing on a GSW over body armour, lol. Marisa’s wings are Air Force Flight Surgeon wings. Puhleeze. Not all bad. It may be improving a bit with the character development, finally. This would have been a great episode to kill off the blonde bimbo though.
  7. Look what it does to your teeths!
  8. I have a brother and sister that are 27 and 28 years (respectively) younger than I am. We are from two completely different generations. When they were little kids, and I spent a lot of time with them, they would sometimes drive me absolutely crazy (which is exactly why my dad wanted me to spend time taking care of them!). More than once I asked my dad, "Jeeze... I didn't do that when I was a kid, did I?" The answer was always an incredulous laugh and, "Don't kid yourself!" I learned to stop asking that question. It's not generational. It's just kids.
  9. As stated at 1:28...
  10. The good news is that your salary overhead is pretty cheap. The world is flooded with whacker medics who would gladly work for minimum wage -- or even free -- just to be able to call themselves a flight medic. And there is a glut of pilots too, so they can be had at bargain basement prices. Your maintenance people are going to demand the highest wages.
  11. My apologies, but I had to give you a positive vote for that one.
  12. That's why I'm an Independent. Nobody can criticise my party! Myself, I criticise anyone who belongs to any party.
  13. You seem to forget that no law is going to put money in anybody's (except politicians and government employees) pocket. Those who cannot afford health insurance will still not be able to afford it. Consequently, we're either going to pay for their health insurance, 100 percent, or pay to incarcerate them for not having it. Not to mention that we will now be paying for one more level of bureaucracy that did not previously exist. We may get our aspirin cheaper, but we'll be paying twice that "savings" for the privilege of it. Smoke and mirrors.
  14. I've always wondered if pot was kosher. From what I saw in the Harold & Kumar movies, I'm assuming it is.
  15. It makes no sense to me that it's legal to smoke in public, yet illegal to masturbate in public. What's up with that? Not that I'd do it myself.
  16. ^ The very definition of moral relativism. We all draw a line somewhere as to what cheating/lying/stealing is "okay" and what is "wrong". That line may or may not match the legal definition. Would I cheat on an English Literature assignment? Sure. Would I cheat on a medical exam? Nope. Something that is professionally related, and involves human lives is where I draw my line. Others draw it lower. Some draw it higher. But -- and I believe this is your point -- none of us are perfect, and therefore stand on shaky moral ground when judging others. I have never, and would never cheat on a girlfriend or spouse (despite the fact that some have done it to me). But there are people who would and do cheat on their spouse who would probably not cheat on an English Lit assignment. It's all relative.

  20. This is a good illustration of why Myspace is better than Facebook.
  21. Perhaps you could just stick to drinking with him. He does that well.
  22. I listened to the radio traffic tape. Those guys sure are impressed with the sound of their own voices. I'm surprised that the state police wanted the "body" extricated that soon. It's usually hours after an incident before a DOS is bagged, with lots of investigation, including an ME, being done before hand. Lucky (?) for the patient that the cops were in a hurry to get back to sitting on their arses. It's so sad that a state that displayed so much early potential in EMS has become one of the last states you'd ever want to need an ambulance in, sharing that dubious distinction with New Jersey, Michigan, California, Arizona, Floridia, and of course DC.
  23. Okay, but you still haven't told us SPECIFICALLY what you're having problems with. Either do that now or the thread is locked.
  24. What has changed about this question since the last time you asked it? http://www.emtcity.com/index.php/topic/17478-looking-for-a-quiz/ You never did explain to us exactly what you are talking about. And it is not immediately evident. Can you at least respond to this thread instead of just asking a question and disappearing for three months?
