  4. You are kidding me right? Are you here to stir the crap or what? Do you really think dispatchers have the ability to control where the calls are at? We have just a magic wand and can point at the map "this grandma just fell down, hahahaha." Yeah, no. Have you spent a day in dispatch? Have you ever spent 40 hours a week answering phones and taking EMD calls? Why don't you ever stop in and say hi do your dispatchers? Come in and sit with them a day and tether up to their phone and listen to what THEY have to put up with. It amazes me that the people on both sides of the radio forget they are talking to a HUMAN, on THEIR side. [sub:f3950e4e31] And, I thought I left.[/sub:f3950e4e31]
  5. How did the dispatcher, dispatch it though? Can't blame the crew if they were dispatched to "Severe Laceration from Dogbite" I don't know what the dispatch was on that, but, based on the article alone, the dispatcher sounds liable to this ladies death.
  6. I am so flipping confused... What does the term rescue mean in this thread? Is it... Or... Or...
  7. Wait wait wait wait..... They knock out half a box there... for a sprained ankle? Or a fall down go boom?
  8. Our sheets have 3 boxes. Box A: Patient Signature Witness signature, if only signed with a mark Box B: Family Signature Witness Signature Box C: Nurse Signature Explanation for Nurse Signature Only one box has to be completed.
  9. Congrats Paragod. It was nice knowing you. :salute: [spoil:87c19718b2]Hopefully anyone who knows my sense of humor, and knows Dwayne, knows this is a joke. But I still feel the need for the disclaimer. 8) [/spoil:87c19718b2]

  14. Wikipedia has failed me on this one.
  15. Change came ONLY because it happened to the Quaids. They didn't give a rat's ass when it happened to the common man. Because they knew the common man didn't have the clout to get anything done. 17. Anybody learned in the anthropology field? Or Roman History? I am curious, did the Romans lose their sense of personal responsibility before their empire collapsed?
  18. There is my question. If I moved to France, would I need to learn French? If I moved to Spain would I need to know Spanish? Maybe not for my business, but to get by in the culture? To not make the effort is selfish. Immigration policy aside, why should natural born citizens be punished because of immigrants? Whats going to be the next buzzword for Affirmative Action for Hispanics? Seems it is what it is coming down to.
  19. Leave it to Iowa. I use a strip of tape across the thigh. On occasion I will write vitals on it, but I use it more as my time stamper than anything else. I am pretty good at keping the vitals in my head, so I will just write down the times they were taken that way I don't have to guestimate that.
  20. Yeah its not working for me on this browser. Ill check it tonight.

  22. I don't see them Spen? Unless my browser isn't being friendly to the site.
  23. Why, do we in EMS, think the tools and toys will save us? Don't get me wrong, I am 100% for having a vest. It can save lives in many ways. But, why don't we take the training we need to keep ourselves safe? How hard is it to take a 24 hour class on defensive tactics? How hard is it to take a 8 or 16 hour class on scene awareness. Even just a 2 or 3 hour in-service. This goes back to the galls-phenomenon. If it is in the magazine we must need it. Who gives a - how it works?
