  1. Nothing wrong with the R-22, aside from it being a 2 seater and would offer no where to a patient. Their power plant is also pretty efficient. Being that it is a piston engine, it has power more readily available. Of course, turbines have more power overall, there is nothing wrong with the R-22.
  2. if you don't like it... don't watch it
  3. Basically... suck it up. Read the material yourself, and study the material. Learn as much as you can. Do the research before you sign up for a class next time.
  4. Always a shame to hear news like this
  5. Thanks for the update on M$. I will look into that program. As for my comments about the apps... just be mindful of what you click. There are A LOT of spyware and phishing apps out there that are disguised to help your "mob" and stuff like that.
  6. The base escalates the sound.
  7. This is possible yes. Motorola actually makes a "base" for your alpha pager that when activated it will go off.. and it is... VERY LOUD. They are available to be set up so you can set a fire department tone to one pager sound/silent/vibrate.. also a different setting for EMS or whatever. Up to 4 different frequencies (since this is the limit of the pagers) As for lights, there may be a product that does this. I am not sure if there is or not. If you are good with electronics though, a simple multi-meter and some solder will get you working. But I won't explain how to do this because it will void your warranty for sure. Google is your friend for that.
  8. learn to use a computer and stop clicking every link you see. no, you did not win a free dell laptop! this is one of the major reasons I block and ignore 99% of the apps on facebook. anyone can make one and spread it over a vast network of idiots who will click it because they got a free cyber beer or something. anyway, what firefly said is the best course of action. delete the post IMMEDIATELY and change your passwords. there are plenty of free virus scanners available, such as avg, trendmicro/housecall (scans online, no downloads needed for scan), avast, norton has a free version, kaspersky... those are all the ones I can think of. you can also use windows defender for a quick scan. Don't trust anything else unless it's on a TRUSTED webpage such as microsoft.com or downloads.com for example. also, not a bad idea to run spyware scans. any questions, feel free to PM me and I will answer as soon as I can
  9. yes
  10. I think this could make a great addition to the Tutorial section. Although it is not a for sure tool for treatment, but like other had said, when you are in a pinch. Maybe explain how to use the the 12 lead monitor to do anterior (moving certain leads to the back) and using LP10 to do a 12 lead (in case your 12 lead capable monitor fails). Just an idea...
  11. happy bday
  12. Nice post Echo. MedStar seems like a really nice company, aside from a few bad apples. Sadly, that's usually all you hear about is the negative stuff and rarely ever hear about the good.
  13. Correct, if you look at a 12 lead and look at lead II, it might be NSR for example. If you look at say aVR or V2 or whatever.. you might see ST elevation. You won't see elevations in the lead II unless that is where the infarct may be. I don't really see how you can not move leads around, and still get readings from V1-V6. You put the leads where they are for a reason of getting readings from that angle of the heart. I do not believe doing this "trick" will be considered a good tool for a diagnostic reading. In essence, you are tricking the monitor I would think. The only way I could think this would be used for, is if your 12lead cables got damaged, or you want to show off to a group of students. If it works, cool. I'd much rather have the proper 12lead done myself though because you just never know.
  14. If you are attaching leads anyway, why not just do the 12? Seems kind of pointless to do an EKG to see if you should do it the right way. There are plenty of things you can do with equipment that it wasn't originally designed for. Personally, I think it is a waste of time to mess around with a 6 lead and moving leads around just to get 12. There is a way of moving leads around on the old monitors where you only had 3 leads to move all the leads around to get a 12 lead reading. The only way I can see this being a benefit, is if you DON'T have a 12 lead monitor. As for it being possible, yes, it is. It is a pain in the foot though.
  15. YOU'RE if you are going to correct someones spelling and/or grammar, you should at least be correct yourself.

    Hey

Welcome to the city. Always nice to see another PA person come around.. we dominate this place
  17. I know such lists exist for within the United States. From everything from murder, to rape, to petty theft. Never seen one on a world wide scale though. The San Francisco Bay Area, has a website dedicated to this as well. It will even give locations of the crime on a map on a day to day basis. I will look for the sites later on and post them if anyone cares. I was always under the impression that Johannesburg was a much worse place in SA. I know a guy who lives in Cape Town and he claims it is great. So, I don't know.
  18. put the wet stuff on the red stuff. class dismissed
  19. best of luck
  20. she is female. she put her cam on a few times back in the day of free chat
  21. Not going to repeat how right previous posts are, there is no sense in that. I just wanted to say, that I have tried to do left handed intubations (on an airway manikin) a few times just to see how it would be. It is hard to see because of the light, but it is still easily possible. edit: Also, being left handed, and learning how to tube right handed, it wasn't a problem. Trying lefty felt a little weird, but it was still possible to insert the tube properly. Personally, it should be up to the provider on which way they wish to do the technique. Do all surgeons have to hold a scalpel with their right hand? No, probably not. Yes, I know scalpels are universal
  22. Great, lets waste more money on a group of people who are going to do basically nothing
  23. The irony... the FF's are the ones endangering the public why refusing to be trained. Tober is on a rampage, and I hope he continues. Hopefully, other medical directors will follow his lead.
