  1. My toe hurts... I think I have diabetes because I seen it on TV! Too often people freak out over the media hype of something by calling is a plague or something. They say it's a pandemic, and all of a sudden the ER is filled with everyone who has a runny nose. The moment a person becomes a "patient" we automatically assume they are diseased. If we follow universal precautions, our worries should diminish greatly with a less likely spread of the plague. Do I always wear gloves when I make patient contact? No, I do not. I do, however, wash my hands a lot. If you suspect swine flu, follow the CDC instructions.
  2. Agreed. But they stood there with their thumbs up their ass. At least attempt CPR for the family and transport IMMEDIATELY. Once in the ambulance without family allowed to come with, call medical command for permission to stop CPR and call the code.
  3. sure, you are in Rogers Pass in the middle of winter (where it gets to -70 and annual snowfall of 300 inches) i wish mcdonalds had lemon for you! *my bad, i read your request wrong*
  4. because you don't tell them you want it without I wish I could sleep
  5. I wouldn't have posted if it were explicit. I'm sure one could find a raw video if they tried. I just though it was pretty funny. Not that unsafe flying it funny...
  6. dealing with womens crap is what puts us in early graves
  7. That's a lot of fail, I don't even know where to begin. What gets me the most, is they got away with it for so long. The only person who could have really reported it, was gotten rid of. Makes you wonder eh?
  8. they would live even longer if they didn't marry at all
  9. yea, its hard to tell... crazy people... underwear for shirts, bras for masks.. whats next? socks for undies?
  10. that's almost as bad as this...
  11. That's right... this pilot loses his pilots license over getting some action while piloting a helicopter. http://www.wired.com/autopia/2009/04/sex-in-the-cock ******link is safe for work viewing, although.. some of the clickable links in the article may not be... be warned!!****** ps... if you watch the video.. take notice to the pilots wedding band Video is also safe for work viewing, sort of... the naughty stuff has been censored
  12. Our protocol doesn't state anything very specific. Just says "if dysonic rection, may order diphenydramine." http://www.dsf.health.state.pa.us/health/l...ve_11-01-08.pdf page 109 Hope that helps some.
  13. As far as I know, you can take the course at any time, but can't be certified until you are 18. Check with you local EMS office/department of health for more detailed information.
  14. Sure, I got some good ones
  15. Hell yeah! Although I am pretty picky on my cooking.. I always have to jump in and be involved.
  16. damn, that's some bad luck! glad they are alright though
  17. Here is a link to images and videos of really crappy parents. WARNING!!!! Some images might be considered NSFW (Not Safe For Work) The images where there is nudity, they have been blacked out though so there is no "actual" nudity. Really Bad Parents!
  18. No, I was yelled at for doing the EJ. There was no access in the arms. Only other Access was an EJ, which was well within protocol. Just another doc swinging their schlong around to feel important and make excuses.
  19. Thanks chbare, I appreciate all that. I will look into this more in depth since I knew nothing more of what a VAD was and what it was for. That was the except of the lecture about them. Seems to be a lot more to it that EMS needs to be aware of.
  20. wait what? I would definitely like to read more about this.
  21. I suppose EMS in PA or more so in my area is worse off than I had originally thought. We have a decent scope of practice, but the docs still get pretty pissy if you do most of the stuff. I got yelled at for doing an EJ or a cardiac arrest patient after failed attempts on the arm. I could only imagine the reaming for cleaning a spine (even with the proper training).
  22. They are doctors... we are not. I'm sure the doc would get a little upset if you cleared a spine in the field.
