To stay qualified as an AHA BLS instructor, you have to teach so many hours or assist in so many every 2 years. You have to re-cert just like everyone else. I would refuse to transport the patient due to not having the proper capabilites to do so. If like medic_texas said, the hospital might let you borrow the pump for the transport. It's not like you are going to steal it.
