  1. correct sir, that is the sign for Infinity, but infinity is not a number. It's a symbol to represent the endless numbering system. Richard also wins for thinking outside the box and going big. your prize is uhmmmm this smiley face
  2. personally I think they are a great tool everyone should utilize. Pros: Wonderful for patient info storage so we have a better idea on what we are walking into with them. Up to date mapping. Extensive medical information for anything you can think of. GPS tracking for priority dispatching... closest unit to the 911 emergencies. Alerts on traffic and re-routing to quicker routes to destinations.... the list goes on people. Cons: Can't think of any.. technology advances are a good thing! Suck it up, pay for it. Learn to use it. Medicine isn't a profession where we should be "set in our ways" or "the old timers don't do it like that".
  3. close! well, not really a little too low sorry boss, that isn't a number
  4. It is my game, I can change the rules at will
  5. Generally a person will be able to read very poorly misspelled words to without even noticing it. Will read right on through.
  6. no, sorry wrong again also incorrect no sir one guess at a time please
  7. Yes, it's grade school again. Guess what number I am thinking! First one to guess correctly wins a prize!
  8. treat the patient and their symptoms. use the diagnostics as a tool to assist you in your treatment. If you patient is showing such vital signs and acting normal, think about why it is like that. ask them if it is normal for them. My friend is the same age as me, and roughly the same height and weight. My normal vitals signs are around a HR of 52, BP 102/78 RR 12. Where as his, are HR in the 80/90s, BP 140/90, RR 18. Both of them are normal for ourselves. If I call 911 for an issue, and you read those vitals for me, don't treat me for hypotension or bradycardia, because they are normal for me. Treat ME, the patient.
  9. HI, welcome to 5 years ago
  10. Very true! The problem is, these people who bitch about the cost... we know they can afford it, they just don't want to spend the money on something that "isn't required". The moment the word came out, about activated charcoal being no longer a 'required' item to have, it was pulled and won't be stocked again. Just goes to show, if they don't NEED it, they won't get it. Sad huh?
  11. hell yea! go wendy go wendy!
  12. The powers that be at such places don't want to spend the money one them. It has been suggested and brought up many times where I work, and it is always shot down because of cost. Pretty sad if you ask me.
  13. Yea, that was great... no chest rise, but the stomach distended! BRAVO GUYS!!!
  14. agreed! I have no problem really with an ambulance responding from a fire house. Only if it is staffed by EMS people who don't ride on the fire equipment, that day. If you want to play with the nozzles, great... but don't expect to provide care for patients at the same time.
  15. If you watch closely, they are handling the patients poorly. I noticed a few things that made my cringe a little bit. For example, holding a towel on someones head, and they kept taking it off and looking "omg, is the cut still there?! yup, oh noes its bleeding again!".
  16. SUPERHEROS!!!!! They fear no fire! Trained to save you in every situation! It's attitudes like that you hear from such people that get real providers hurt and killed. It's attitudes like that that put patients in danger.
  17. wow... uhmmm, so how many of those people that got interviewed had hardons and starting fapping when the camera was off? You CANNOT do both fire and ems at the same time. Sure, having a medically trained person on the fire engine is all well and good, but now if there is an EMS emergency you have a whole crew tied up on it, where as it would only require two people. Also, what if there is a fire, and then there is a heart attack, are they going to drop the hose lines to go to the other call? No, probably not.
  18. you are supposed to use separate slicers for cheese and meat..
  19. mmmm schoolgirl uniform!
  20. Because I wanted to go get lunch, he wanted to chit chat with people in the ER, so when he went in the bathroom, I left. Came back about 5minutes later though. Not sure if he even noticed.
  21. nope, left him at the hospital
