Zilla, not to get off topic, but what do you suggest for those who do not have the option of RSI and need to intubate, being traumatic or non-traumatic?

I hear they make these things called DVDs. They make a person capable of viewing a movie or tv show so one can view them at a later time. It's a pretty new product though. I suggest you look into it.

I have seen these before, they are really cool. Kind of reminded me of the movie "Tron" though. They appear to be relatively simple to work with. I do believe in what Dust mentioned. Ambulance crews need to be more informed on them and given a better understanding about them. Same with fire service and law enforcement.

Unfortunately, these are the types of questions they ask in testing. A highly educated and experienced person like yourself, showed difficulty in interpreting the question. You could only imagine how difficult this can be for someone in school or just out of school. We know the material, but with questions worded like that with hardly any info, written purposely to confuse you... is just plain retarded. Some might say it helps with critical thinking, but I don't believe so.

I was also told by a cardiologist that when placing the leads on the patient, it is a good idea to mark where you put the leads when they are in the proper places. His explanation for this was when transferring a patient, and the stickies come off the patient which we all know they do, they should be put back in the same place. As Dust said lead placement for diagnostics if very important. If the leads get moved around from one analysis to another, the outcome could be different. If they are put on properly by us, we might see the MI, but a lead coming off and being put back on in another location, that MI might not show up again.

What if people don't have text messaging?

I have worked with females for over night and 24 hours shifts while I was involved with someone. She trusted me to be loyal and I always was. Believe it not, I am very professional at work. Any kind of hanky panky at work would lead to, and should lead to immediate dismissal from the job. YOU ARE WORKING! So unless your job is a prostitute or something, you shouldn't be considering these things. As with any relationship, you need to have trust. If there is none, then what kind of relationship do you really have? Always worried about where the other one is, what they are doing, who they are with. You see them talking to another person, and you get worried of who else they talk to and what they do when you aren't around. It leads to breakups! Also, I am pretty sure you are supposed to have separate sleeping areas and bathrooms. One should not enter or use the others. At least in PA, it is a law.

When we hyperventilate, we breathe rapidly. We breathe so fast we can't get full tidal volume into our lungs. We breathe in a small out of o2 and retain more CO2, thus making us more acidiotic. Having more co2 and less o2 in your system being circulated, will lead to cyanosis, which is a lack of oxygen.

Pagers are probably you best bet. They are used a lot for dispatching. You can even get your own hardware to send out a page from you station. If you want to "text message" every ones cell phones, it would be rather difficult unless everyone was on the same provider, and still would be a pain. Unless someone puts all the numbers in their phone, types up a message and sends it to them.

Adequate would be nice, but some is better than none. That's really great in the perfect world of 911. Amb 1 gets dispatched... then Amb2 gets dispatched moments after. Amb1 gets a refusal, then Amb2 ends up getting sent on a long transfer. Now Amb1 is stuck running all the calls. Both crews are lacking sleep. Your idea works though. We try to do that.
