  1. granted, you are now the president of NAMBLA I wish I were a doctor
  2. I have some stuff, but I will have to check to see if they are shareable. Wouldn't want to violate any copyright agreements.
  3. That's a great idea. Where will the content come from though. From my searches in the past, most of anything related to things like that, all cost money. The ones that are free aren't all that great.
  4. I was referring to the part of doing the nasty... not getting the STD
  5. Sorry, we our televisions or newspapers don't reach outside the boarders of the state yet. Working on access to things outside of the state on the internet though, it's almost here!
  6. How does one sign up for these studies?
  7. yup, paramedics are morons and have no concept of patient care.
  8. Right... and how many other things that are illegal the cops let go by? I don't by it. Deporting someone isn't just throwing them in a car and pushing them back over the border. There is a timely process and no one wants to really deal with it on a day to day basis. Which is why they round them all up in huge groups and do it on a once and done deal. If cops were out there catching these "criminals", there wouldn't be such a huge problem of them being here.
  9. And how often do you see cops chasing illegal immigrants just because they are illegal? The prison system doesn't even do anything about them. They just lock them up. There had to be a reason for the chase.

    coffee!

Recently there has been an add on the site for a company called javamedic. I came across this site a while ago. Thought it was a great idea, with all the roasts and gift baskets. Funny stuff. Anyway, to support a fellow EMS person, (not just some person trying to make a dollar posing on a profession, he is really a paramedic) I thought I would try some. The stuff is really awesome. Give it a try! and no.. I'm not advertising for them, I just think it is really great stuff and an awesome idea.
  11. thanks, I am capable of reading. But it still doesn't answer my question of WHY they were being CHASED.
  12. I have no idea. We don't have anything here except opinionated people telling off patients. Doesn't always happen, but it does once in awhile. Public education is a must. There was a 911 call once when I was working a couple years back, for a "fall victim". Caller stated patient lost consciousness and the whole nine yards. We get there to find a 30 year old guy who tripped and most likely had a broken toe. Never even "fell", just a near fall. A stubbed toe.. while we were tied on on that crap, another call came in for a cardiac arrest. The patient insisted we took him to the hospital, and we were unable to go on the more serious call. Although, now I think we have the option to divert to the more serious calls. Not sure how it works if we are already on the first call though.
  13. *additional gratuitous birthday wises* Have a good one
  14. Sounds like an alright idea. Although, if the pre-hospital employees are to educate the public on the use of 911, they themselves, the paramedics, emt's, firefighters, police should also be educated in how to go about this and why. Having a bunch of people out there giving their opinions on it could end in disaster. Maybe only allow this to be done by a supervisor.
  15. It a shame to hear someone was killed. Illegal immigrant or not, it was still a human life. Why were they running? Did they rob a liquor store, try to see an R rated movie and produced no ID, kill someone? Sadly, police chases end in disaster, usually for the person or persons being chased. What makes it even worse, is that they WERE being chased and had the potential for injuring or even killing another person who was just out for a walk. If the cops didn't chase them, maybe they all would be alive and unhurt. Chase them down, why bother? What is four more illegal immigrants? Certainly not worth chasing them resulting in a human life and endangering the public.
  16. what a fantastic way to waste hospital resources and money
  17. I am sorry guys. I did not know you had to pay. I linked that right from an e-mail I had. My apologies
  18. just some I thought were funny
  19. so you mean I won't be getting that free boob job, and I didn't win the Spanish national lottery? I guess I need to ask for me deposit back that verified my checking account...
  20. 1. ABSOLUTELY we are not criminals. If mistakes happen, and they do, we document everything, not matter what. 2. Training, education, common sense, know how to READ. 3. If you make a mistake, you shouldn't necessarily be "punished". Depending on what you have done. If you give say an ACE inhibitor to a patient that you didn't know was pregnant by either them not knowing in early pregnancy or you forgetting to ask. I don't see a reason to "punish" the person who gave the medication. If anything, they be required to do some sort of in service on giving medications, the whole R thing.. Right dose, Right patient, Right medication, etc etc... Now, if you have given the patient a BETA blocker, Adenosine, or Verapmil, to a patient that is bradycardic or giving a patient who is having chest pain Asprin and they say they have an ulcer or are allergic, these would be highly ignorant of the person giving the medication and should be dealt with in a more appropriate manner.
  21. Sounds like very poor health care to me. Parents won't let you call an ambulance, DR says don't call one. Puts her on no medication even though these are chronic? If she is actively seizing and I am there, I am calling an ambulance to have her taken to see a real doctor. Sounds like very poor health care to me. 22. Not gelling won't fail you. It's not even mentioned to do so. You failed on something else. Read over your skill sheets carefully and memorize them! Good luck for next time.
  23. ALS available? If so, EKG? Are vitals taken by us for the nursing staff?
  24. Look at what part of the forum you are in. This is a scenario.
