  1. I need a new roof Ruff, does that mean you will help?
  2. Military aircraft routinely fly over residential areas and practice targeting buildings. It is called training. They can't fly over the forest and pretend the big oak tree is a terrorist hide out or something. It just doesn't work that way. In regards to the topic at hand.. who cares?
  3. I wonder where he keeps his LP12, maybe some sort of backpack?
  4. There is nothing wrong with having a kit like that in the pre-hospital setting IF IT'S ON YOUR AMBULANCE. Of course, having being trained in all the equipment as well. As a personal kit though, we can beat the horse all we want and say it is crazy, because well it is. Where I live, it is ILLEGAL to carry any ALS type equipment on your person or in your vehicle, besides when you are working and on the clock, ie.. 6:30am and you shift starts at 7am driving to/from work, you cannot have say, an IV catheter on you. Let alone having surgical type equipment, and narcotics. It just boggles the mind. It wouldn't surprise me that this person looks at this kit or the pictures of it in lou of porn.
  5. I don't know about malaria, but it is used for anthrax... but mostly it is used for bronchitis and other such lung problems
  6. He stole my idea... I can't see how 90% of that could be legal to carry outside of being on the job. With the exception of the narcs... last I checked, they have to be put on lock and key and well documented and inventoried every shift... not taken home with. Very scary.... and what's up with the gold bond? Is he gonna rub it on the patients butt for their hemorrhoids?
  7. Don't mind him, he just likes to bitch and remind everyone he is better than everyone else. Many EMS personel refer to going on "calls". I myself, don't run when I am dispatched. In a way, I am called to go there.
  8. My first call when I was merely doing ride alongs when I was in emt school, was a stand by for a structure fire. First actual 911 was for a hemophiliac hep c lady who had a nose bleed. My first call as an EMT (wearing sandals, shorts and a t-shirt (was volunteering and was forced to go)) was for a "intoxicated male". Once assessed and enroute to the hospital, asking more questions, he now tells me he is diabetic (which he previously denied). Later I get a phone call from one of the nurses at the hospital to tell me the patient overdosed on heroin. First call as a medic student was a male who put a nice 6in gash across the side of his neck with a k12 saw exposing some nice vasculature and airway... wish I had a camera.... Hope YOUR first shift goes well, regardless of what it was, stay calm and all that junk. Be a duck.
  9. Sounds promising, but how are students supposed to learn hands on skills? And it appears to only benefit Texans, but other wise, it seems they are on the right track to educating people.
  10. Duh, that's why gyms are air conditoned... it's not to keep the body temp down
  11. Gonna have to fight me for her Something about a buff chick is hot... but not toooo buff
  12. Why do I have a distinct feeling a lot of you will be getting your doors kicked in by the FBI?
  13. When I first read that, I thought you were just joking, then ironically a few minutes later, as I am flipping through channels.. there it was, on the military channel. Cool stuff
  14. First time I donated, I filled the bag in 5 minutes, then went to track practice and ran 6 miles... beat that *flexes*
  15. Glad everyone has a sense of humor *rolls eyes*
  16. Yes, it is completely normal. You lost a quart of blood. Blood full of all kinds of goodies your body likes to have. You are feeling tired and dizzy because of this. Mostly because your body is not working to make up for the blood loss. You are dizzy for the simple reason of the lost nutrients that are in the blood, for instance sugar. Which is why they give you cookies. The cookies aren't a thank you for donating. (please correct me if I am wrong, I am only assuming this out of common sense) I remember when I first donated back in high school. A friend and myself were next to each other, and we raced to see who could fill the bag first. Bad idea, but it was fun at the time. My other friend got really sick, passed out a few times. Threw a few fists at a mean ole nurse. So we just took him to the senior lounge and hung out there all day. Ordered pizza, watched tv, had a blast Anyway, you will feel better in a few hours. Eat a good meal, get some rest. Don't go off jogging or anything like that.
  17. Unil they are proven compotent by their peers.
  18. My high school had an AED there when I was there, and I graduated 6yrs ago. Only a handful of the teachers were required to be trained on using it, which is just silly because a retarded monkey could use one. On the other hand, wasn't there a case where a student collapsed during a sporting event, and the AED failed because they weren't taught to plug in the pads or something like that? Or was this just a rumor?
  19. If you are going to boast about a side-load ambulance... at least show what you are boasting about. We all know what an ambulance looks like. The idea sounds good, but I still want to see what it looks like! Cudos on the racing harness, lol
  20. Full riot gear for all providers. Head, chest, legs... something like batman wore
  21. I'd wear one just because it will make me look buff under my uniform.... *flexes*
  22. So who wants to buy me one? I promise to take many pics of it for whom ever does
