  1. I got this idea from the Service dog thread. Yes, there is a witnessed CPR. More than the patients odds of regaining automatism I was considering not wanting to wait on LE although I would love to hear your thoughts on the Medical aspect as well. This is a patient I would want to give the benefit of definitive care. My unit would be a BLS unit. The closest ALS can be on scene in 20 minutes and intercept 10 minutes away. I would prefer not to wait for LE to simply hand off the weapon.
  2. You would give it to LE on the scene? At the Hospital? Or simply to the hospital security to be stored with other weapons? You are correct. I looked up the thread you mentioned since you felt it nessesary to mention but did not cite the reference. http://www.emtcity.c...s-guns-and-ems/ I don't think you read the OP very well.
  3. We are toned out for a unresponsive male in a remote parking lot. Upon arrival the patient is unconscious, and having a heart attack. His 16 year old grandson, who is performing bystander CPR, declares that he has a valid driver’s license and will follow the ambulance to the hospital. He also declares that his grandpa has a concealed carry handgun license and has a Kimber 9 mm in a hip holster. LE is 15min away. What do you do with the gun?
  4. This is really the only reasonable argument. LE can hold the gun for the patient along with the Dog both for the same reasons. There could be exceptions. Most concealed carry zones are defined by the state and could vary depending on where you work. This scenario is not necessarily true. Emergencies don't all happen at home or near a place where a firearm can be stored. A third party could call 911. Also, we can't turn a firearm over to the "next of kin" because they might not meet the legal requirements to cary a firearm on their person. Giving them a gun, even just for safekeeping, could constitute a crime for the medic. This brings to mind another question. An unconscious patient that has a legal firearm is going to be transported. the medic discovers the gun during his secondary assessment. Should he wait for the Police to hold the gun for him or should the medic secure the weapon in the rig and turn it in at the hospital along with the patients belongings to be held in a secure area at the hospital? I know what I would do but am interested in others thoughts.
  5. In Texas, hospitals and nursing homes are no carry zones. I am not sure about ambulances. Does anyone know?
  6. That is funny!
  7. You know ... swim in the river = feed the crocks. swim in the ocean = feed the sharks. Maby you should consider Alabama instead.
  8. Do you want to hunt, fish, feed the crocks, feed the great whites or just hang out?
  9. Do we really want to redo the unrestrained fat person thread again?
  10. If he has a liscense for his gun and is allowed by law would there be a problem? I thought we had resolved that issue in the appropriate thread. Please do not derail this one.
  11. In this particular scenario I would get LE or command to hang on to the dog until the time that the patient or family could return for it. I would even be willing to pick the dog up myself and care for it until it could be returned to it's owner.
  12. High flow diesel. I like!
  13. As far as a grown mans tears having significance, What does that mean? We have insight to the rest of his life? What if he is emotional and cries all the time? What if he is taking hormone replacement therapy and is feeling a "little insecure"? What if he is a "big brother" plant and cries to get others to show their weakness? Do tears from a fully developed male really mean more or less than tears from any other adult? I live in a society where physical contact is common. The idea of personal space is not understood. Men touch a lot without in any way implying they are gay. So I get lots of hugs and give them as well. I even enjoy hugs except when followed by a pat or butt squeeze. Sorry you thought I was diminishing the healing effects of affectionate, fraternal physical contact.

I admire women who take the time to work hard in the gym, In fact I wish all women would invest in their health by spending a couple hours a day working out. A trip to walmart would be like a miss USA contest!
  15. I don't talk to strangers about the "darkness inside". As far as a grown mans tears having significance, What does that mean? We have insight to the rest of his life? What if he is emotional and cries all the time? What if he is taking hormone replacement therapy and is feeling a "little insecure"? What if he is a "big brother" plant and cryes to get others to show their weakness?
  16. A pet taxi cage would probably work so long as the cage was restraned and meets the owners approval to exume the service from liability if the animal is in some way, form, or fashion, injured during transport.

So, what did it look like?
  18. Can't help with recipie. Eager to hear yours. Tacos are quick, easy, tasty and safe ... till they get below the duodenum.
  19. Cursing? Kind of touchy tonight? Reasonable solution. Leave the dog at home or let someone else bring it. The ADA investigation makes me want to curse though. They follow due process in the investigation of the complaint. Find no fault but still recommend that the medical service should be more accommodating. What a bunch of BS. It is giving the person who filed the complaint the win although no fault was found. I can hear it now. “We didn’t find anything wrong but still chewed their butt and made them change their policy” What a bunch of crap. Once again the subjugation of substance to feelings. This has been the argument of the entire thread. People who expect more that they deserve.
  20. This sounds like someone trying to get something for nothing. Feed em rice.

I don't get it. Some women want a bigger badonkadonk and others want a boney one. Don't women know we love them because of their mind?
  22. My avatar describes beyond words what I think of the UN.
  23. I know a person that has registered their dog as a service animal so she does not have to leave poochie in the car during lunch with her friends. It is not dificult to do.
  24. What about diarrhea? It often acompanies emesis. You could take a crap so big that your pressure drops.
