Thanks for coming back and letting us know how it went for you. Yes they are both very experienced providers and pretty decent instructors. Hope you can get back on track and continue on in your studies.

you really don't want to go down that road trevor. more money initially and higher maintenance cost / mile. fuel milage is low parts are more expensive. -
Trust me Mobey ,: the nuns in grammerschool did their best to make me be a righty. They'd whack my knuckles with a ruler so my left hand hurt too much to hold the pencil.

Folks: We must remember that Mike EMT is new to this business and is working for the great evil empire . so brainwashing is in place. If they don't do something they can't bill for it. this is a call where the ambulance should have been canceled enroute as there was no longer a Pt with a need for their services. The first time an EMT, Intermediate , or Paramedic overrode a facilities Dr who has identified himself as such , would find his arse in front of the state medical review board for punitive action. We're not talking about a call at a restaurant where a diner stands up & tells you they are a DR. This is the facilitiy MD/DO who has a pt/Dr relationship and who has the authority to make the decisions regarding calling death for this resident. We have the last page in our state protocol book for the walk up kind of MD/RN offer for assistance at a scene. Synopsis ::thank you for offering assistance to the rescue crew. If you wish to assume responsibility for Pt care decisions , you will need to continue said care all the way to the hospital in the ambulance. If there are any questions have them discuss this with medical control Dr.

Just a curiosity I've had for decades. Was born a RC and feared the nuns with a ruler in grade school , knew the mass in traditional latin, Leaned away after seeing some of the questionable acts of the priest as an alterboy. Tried reading & studying the Bible and then in the Navy was exposed to many different beliefs, all founded in individual leanings of the "TRUTH". Met some born again christians while in the Navy and found them to be too far out there to be believable. Saw horrors that a true GOD could not allow to happen to his/ her children, Saw people murdered in "the name of the Lord" , I guess I'm one of those folks that as I got older found myself questioning what I had been led to believe as the truth and watched those truths fall by the wayside. The more you know::: the less you know as the truth ????? Now as an old guy, I'm set in my ways and have a pretty good idea of what the afterlife will hold. Worm food as my ashes are spread over the ground

What is religion??? Is it the beliefs taught and translated from the 10th century or from BC? Is it the Roman Catholic church which runs the largest inteligence network on earth?? How about the hellfire & brimstone Southern Baptist preachers??? Is it the Jim & tammy Baker televangilist crowd robbing people of their life savings on overnight radio & TV??? or the Jim Baker preacher murdering his cult because they were beginning to question him??? Is it the ultra right winger who brainwashed his "family" into believing it is ok for him to father children with his own 12 yo daughters again & again ??? Is it the olympic stadium sized church of modern times with television productions resembling a broadway production?? Is it a core belief in some supreme being that caused everything to happen???? Is it the muslims who follow the Quran and believe in Jihad???? Please provide a legitimate definition

The reason I suggested your state office is that they are the ultimate decision maker on how many times you can retest and what time limits are placed on retesting from completion of the class and the skills testing. Since we don't know what state you are in , it's hard to give accurate info. The National registry is not a licensing organization or lawmaker. That is a state agency issue. The nat registry is a test writing and administering organization period that is hired by state EMS agencies so they don't have to write their own exams. Nat registry doesn't even give the exams anymore, it is contracted to Pearson . -
Correct: but a physician has declared the Pt deceased. No need for any intervention from EMS
-
Deceased pt ::: DR has declared death ::: Family is in agreement:::: = no brainer Have the Doc sign the run report as canceling any need for your assistance.

Watch out for the Ohio state troopers on I-70. They make a sport out of writing tickets at 5 over or less, especially with out of state plates. I got three tickets in one township in less than a month at 57 mph on the interstate. Went to court and showed them to the judge and asked them to see if there was a pattern. Come to find out they were writing over a thousand tickets a month on a 3 mile stretch of I-70. Judge figured they were running a scam operation as the township got to keep a share of the fines. He tossed the tickets out -

Contact your state EMS office for the info you need. -
As others have said: Positive commentary on the performance of one's job is worth a lot. Write the letter to the supervisor and CC the manager. Commentary on how the preceptor went above the norm in making you feel comfortable and well informed, about providing quality care for the patients. One attaboy letter wipes out 5 awshits. Congrats on getting a great preceptor, as some folks end up with someone who tells them to sit over there and take notes. A great preceptor early in your career can make a world of difference in inspiring you to always be better than you need to be. I was lucky to be inspired early in my career by working with some incredible folks who pushed me to always be a shining star and don't ever allow complacency to be OK.
