  1. because the gene pool might get shallower than it already is.
  2. 24 hours of granny shuffle would make me want to become a greeter at whalemart. What could be worse !
  3. why don't you give us the whole pt report in the form of a report that you would make to the ER Doc. Sounds like the makings of a serious hypertensive crisis with complications to me. Possible cardiac or stroke potential , or as you say with abd pain a possible AAA. Where was the abd pain focused? radiating? steady? dull? sharp? Duration. was was the rebound of the abd on palpation? History of past events?
  4. Since you seem to take the most Umbrage with my comments No one gave you any shit until your responses came back as snarky to several long time members here Asking whether the state of Mn would accept that particular course for licensing before you spend several thousand hard earned dollars would be a smart move . When I was that young age an old fellow used to tell me to slow down and listen to what the old folks had to say about being in your twenties. Young ,dumb full of piss & vinegar, & going to save the world::: :Then reality sets in as you get into your 30's , 40's & 50's, you're not the smartest blob of protoplasm to crawl on the face of the earth, there will always be someone young kid barely out of diapers just a little better and someone with just a little more natural ability than you, someone who can run just a little faster or lift just a little better than you. BUT : it's OK to be in the top 10%, take your drive to strive and always do better for your Patients, take the knowledge you've gained and pass it along to the cubs just starting out in the business`, who will have to learn the knowledge & ways of the world gained over a 4 decade career. Yes they are running a fake online CCEMTP course at the college you mentioned. How good it is and how many folks have taken seems to be a mystery. There, you got a direct response to your initial post.
  5. I thought we were very clear from the beginning Chris. Usually folks get an idea in their heads and thats all they want to have verified. They don't want thereal truth from folks. I see a lot of that with the younger generation crowd.
  6. some folks come here and ask questions. They don't always like the answers they want to get Then they cop an attitude with folks trying to help them
  7. Since the OP hasn't logged on since march 5th, I'm guessing he's gone elsewhere to get the answers he wants. Someplace where they will tell him he's right & the nat reg test is rigged against him ,being the uber educated I-99 he is with a history.
  8. Will your state accept the course for licensing would be the first question I'd ask
  9. Welcome to the City
  10. your going to need a big catchers mitt with this crowd, Tami
  11. her post says Arnold Mo, Ruff Welcome to the City
  12. ..... ...... .... . ......
  13. so you only hire white males with 10 inches , is that what your saying. Not much of a hiring pool.
  14. there you go again Doc ::: using common sense and logical thinking. Thought we warned you about that. Apparently if you are a religious based unit you can claim exemptions from many things . Churches get out of paying property tax and if a"church" owns prime lakefront land as a summer camp they get away with not paying taxes while everyone else around them carries their burden. There is one here that has somehow gotten recognition as a "church" more of a cult in their activities that managed to receive the gift of a "parishioners" land on the lake after she passed on. Tax value would be over 1,2 million on the property. town gets nothing from them and all the folks using the "retreat for spiritual cleansing" as the sign says leave nothing behind but trash and noise. Yet the courts have ruled.
  15. contact the site admin. He'll be happy to set you up. Thank you for asking to do the right thing.
  16. Hello back at ya from soggy Maine. Hurricane is sitting on top of us for the past 18 hours and dumping lots of rain. My rain gauge [[5 gallon bucket] is overflowing this morning.
  17. pain relief for our patients is often overlooked by many. there are many different methods you can use as a Basic EMT. proper immobilization , ice packs & positioning to reduce strain or stress on the injury. Don't ever be afraid to call for an advanced level provider to provide pain relief through narcotic intervention.
  18. Welcome to the city Alan. I'm sure that if you contact the site administrator he will be glad to sell your business some advertising space to flog your used ambulances.
  19. the odds of you sitting in on a childbirth are slim to none in an EMT basic class. You might see a film on it in class. Why, would that bother you???? It is part of what we need to know how to deal with in EMS as the baby doesn't always wait to get to the hospital before deciding it's time to leave the oven.
  20. thats usually how free money works Mikey. You fill out lots of paperwork & if the donor organization likes what you wrote they give you either a check or equipment in kind as a donation they can write off from their federal taxes. I've written many grant applications from a simple single page letter to a 100 page form. Last time I checked the total in funding received was over $1,738,000.00 to 501c3 organizations from both government and private foundation funding grants. gotten everything from AED's to firetrucks & everything in between funded.
  21. They make a medical skid for the rear of the gator also. We had them when the gator first came out and had a stretcher mount made for them which would hold either a folding stretcher or a long board and allow three responders to get to remote areas where ambulances couldn't. As far as grant funding: you could try local UTV dealers and see if they have a lease donor program that will allow them to give the camp use of a unit for the season after which it would go back to them.
  22. park rangers I know use detachable nylon saddle bags with pouches inside for EMS gear. Think they had them made at iron duck possibly.
