  1. Dust... is..... defending firefighters.... ? This makes my brain hurt!

    Too cool

    very VERY lame
  3. Ultimately the best thing you can do is contact your O2 dealer and ask
  4. Well one thing to consider is that the O2 coming out of the tank would be the same temperature as the ambient temperature it was stored in. Also, I don't know how well plastic o-rings (if that is the kind you use) would hold up to extreme cold for long periods.
  5. And also, just because they can do it does not mean that the pt outcome has been changed. Besides, I would bet that with some time you could train a monkey to effectively insert an LMA or EZ-IO

    V-tach

    Fifth time for me
  7. I dare say that EMS providers have some of the highest gastronomical fortitude around, but that thought challenges it....
  8. I've seen medics say "Oh, you're breathing is fine! Look at your oxygen level! We don't need to put this mask on you" (Not an exact quote) THAT is the real danger with SpO2.... improper use.
  9. If memory serves it is in the printer options menu. But it's been a while since I've touched an LP12. MRx for me now
  10. LOL, literally! That's classic!

Did Mars Bars ever actually HAVE peanuts in them? I mean, other than "may contain traces"? And for the record, it wasn't me as I find Mars disgusting
  12. Riding a snow machine at god awful speed and hit ice that was sticking up. Launched 'em good.
  13. Somewhat related is my service has 3 "Wildernes Response Units" consisting of a snow machine with a sled on the back for transport. In fact, two days ago we got to use the one in our area for the first time in its existence for 2 patients who were ~0.5mi out on the ice of a lake. One with a femoral # and the other with a c-spine #.

 I want to know too because I'm anaphylactic to peanuts!
  15. That effectively doubles the number of vehicles you need to have!

Ok Thank you for clarifying this to me I wonder why our system doesn't use it... I suppose, other than having to carry both combivent AND ventolin puffers as well as atrovent AND ventolin nebs which would be more costly
  17. How can some people be 10-8 in 5 minutes or less when coming from home? Do you guys sleep in your uniform? Just wondering. I live at the station when I'm on call due to not living in the community where I work and I usually take 5+ minutes.
  18. We work 12 hour shifts where we have a 90seconds to 10-8 time. Then for the other 12 hours you have 8 minutes to 10-8 so those who live near enough can go home.

Do you folks find that the ipratropium bromide makes THAT much of a difference?
  20. Second request. I'm asking you to explain how using my government issued photo ID card as a photo ID card makes me a poser.
  21. My secret is out I considered blocking out my name... but then the previously mentioned laziness kicked in.
  22. Uhmmm... I guess I was kind of wondering HOW this makes me a poser? Please explain.
  23. Uhmmm... no? OASIS = Ontario Ambulance Service Identifaction System When boarding the plane, you are required to show photo ID to prove you are who you say you are. In order to be a Paramedic in Ontario, you HAVE to have this card on your person at ALL times when you are working. It is a government issued ID card. If that means I'm a poser, then I guess all the medics in Ontario are. The card: Showing how it is convenient to use it as photo ID:
  24. It just occured to me that I tend to use my OASIS card (ID proving you work in EMS) as photo ID when boarding because it's in the windowed area of my wallet. So I suppose that is the most I do to identify myself, and it's only from laziness
