Wonder about me??? Usually mine are from Africa as well...this was my first Muslim one, hence the excitement. It is good to see them branching out and trying new tactics.

Assalaamu alaykum, I am Mrs Amina Mohamed.I am married to Late Mallam ALI Mohamed of blessed memory who is a cocoa exporter before his death. We were married for twelve years without a child. He died after abrief illness that lasted for only four days. Before his death we were both devoted Muslims. Since his death I too have been battling with both Cancer and fibroid problems. When my late Husband was alive he deposited the sum of $15.5million (Fifteen Million Five hundred thousand U.S Dollars) in the Bank. Recently,my doctor told me that I have only six months to live due to cancer problem. Though what disturbs me most is my stroke sickness. Having known my condition I decided to donate this fund to either a Moslem organization or devoted Muslim individual that will utilize this money the way I am going to instructs herein. I want this Muslim organization or individual to use this money in all sincerity to fund mosques, orphanages, widows, and also propagating the word of ALLAH and to ensure that the society upholds the views and belief of the Holy Quran. The Holy Quran emphasizes so much on ALLAH'S benevolence and this has encourage me to take the bold step. I took this decision because I don't have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are new Christian's converts and I don't want a situation where this money will be used in an Unholy manner. Hence the reasons for this bold decision. I know that after death I will be with ALLAH the most beneficent and the most merciful. I don't need any telephone communication in this regard because of my health, because of the presence of my husband's relatives around me always. I don't want them to know about this development. With ALLAH all things are possible. As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact information of the Bank where the Fund was deposited. I will also issue a letter of authority to the Bank authorizing them that the said fund Have being willed to you and a copy of such authorization will be forwarded to you. I want you and the Muslim community where you reside to always pray for me. My happiness is that I lived a true devoted Muslims worthy of emulation.Whoever that wants to serve ALLAH must serve him in truth and in fairness. Please always be prayerful all through your life.Any delay in your reply will give room in sourcing for a Muslim organization or a devoted Muslim for this same purpose. Until I hear from you, my dreams will rest squarely on your shoulders. May ALLAH the most gracious continue to guide and protect us. Bismillah hir Rahmaan Nir Raheem Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatuallahi wa barakatuhu. Regards, Mrs Amina Mohammed

Which is why I am all for euthanasia and I have a health care POA with my directives clearly spelled out. Not only would I hate to have lived in this "coma" for 23 years, I would also hate the fact to be "living" like this period. I rather they had starved me 22 years ago as opposed to the mental hell that he endured and will still endure physically and emotionally.

You already have to have a passport to travel internationally, nothing new there. Domestically, you do have to show an ID and it is not unreasonable to ask that it conforms to certain standards which are: 1. A digital photograph 2. Anti counter fitting measures 3. Machine readable technology with defined minimum data elements which could include a magnetic strip or a RFID tag This is not a lot to ask...however I am closely watching the "minimum data" requirements Florida has had this in place for years and when I moved to Alaska and went to get my license, imagine my surprise when they took a snapshot with a regular camera and then made an ID old style laminated and type written right in front of me. I actually made a better fake ID in high school and this was now my State Driver's License...so asking states which still do this to get on board is not ridiculous but yes there needs to be some limits. While researching this topic, I ran across several sites condemning the "Obama administration" for these measures however they were all crafted just after 9/11...just so we are all clear on where this stuff originated. http://www.businessweek.com/debateroom/archives/2009/01/nationalize_us.html

NREMT will be discontinued in KY?
akflightmedic replied to Johntom2000's topic in General EMS Discussion
And I so look forward to this day...having lived in SC and FL and enjoyed all the Northern retirees/Snowbirds or others who migrated for cost reasons who find their way to our piece of the pie then lie around and do nothing but complain about how this is not how they do it back home while at the same time burdening the very system which they pay very little into and falsely inflating home prices because by offering more on a home that is at fair market price because they are still getting a deal. If it was so great to be there, why did you leave? Broad generalization...yes...common...very! -
Thank you for your response and by no means did I mean to imply France was the only nation. If you will note I said "on this project", my current assignment which falls under NATO and it is within this project that France makes my job difficult. In regards to physician quality which I receive here, on this project, well that is dismal because any physician who is qualified to be here has no reason to be here...make sense? Basically, if they are qualified, they are already employed and certainly not willing to come here for the pay versus risk.
-
Ahhh France, the country where doctors ride on the ambulances. The sole member of the NATO stakeholder nations that screws up my staffing by requiring me to employ physicians on this project because they do not recognize the abilities of paramedics, nevermind EMTs or the fact that most doctors outside of France interested in this line of work are extremely unqualified or ill prepared/incompetent. Ask me how many doctors I have hired and fired in the past 14 months. Good luck in your endeavor but it would be wise to save your money and time.

Options to Add Strobes/Lights to go off upon page
akflightmedic replied to Zach Smith's topic in Equiqment and Apparatus
What I find interesting is years ago, the county I worked for changed their annoying alarm system to a gentle awake system. We were all a little skeptical at first but absolutely loved it. No one slept through the tones and it was a much easier way of waking up to be sent on a call. You did not have your heart racing 100+, you did not have the BP spike and you were in a good mood. The alarm and lights would start at a very low setting and increase in intensity with each cycle. I think there were 5 cycles maybe before the lights were fully on and the tone was at peak. I never saw anyone still in bed after the 2nd cycle. We were all impressed that we were able to wake up to such low tones and light settings and I imagine if a study were ever done on the physiological response exhibited by emergency responders when being woken at 0300 for an emergency call, this would reign king. -
First, you can be fit and still fat...there is a difference. You say fire is more demanding, but when comparing a strictly EMS service side by side of a strictly FD, which does more work on average consistently? Which of the two is more physically demanding with more hazard exposures? A FD will have many hazards at one incident but an EMS provider will have several hazards at every incident of every call. Statistically, run numbers favor EMS, therefore EMS is exposed to more danger, more hazards and continuous work (physical activity) than FD. Could the reason be that EMS providers are more fit despite the fat due to continuous work constantly with slightly elevated heart rates punctuated with sporadic HR peaks for flavor? Could it be FFs get complacent in their duties and despite being 40, still act and "feel" like they are 18? Could the bravado/machismo mentality contribute to the point where the FF pushes himself so as not to be seen as the weak link? Just asking...

Exactly. Many complaints you hear about but never the final resolution...why? It is because any wise company will settle out of court and put a gag order on it so to speak. My county was self insured as most are, same with municipalities...we settled several times. Nothing to be proud of, some of the complaints were frivolous, but even those frivolous claims are cheaper just to pay, which we did. Having said that, I have been named in a lawsuit and an old partner of mine was as well. I have written of these before but it was a few years back. Both of our names were dropped out of the cases respectively due to the opposing side realizing we had nothing to give and garnishing our wages for the next 50 years would be ridiculous. They want the big fish, so they would name everyone initially and then as discovery develops, drop names as needed.

Which side of the blade is your bulb on, you know that little light that assists you in seeing where you need to be? (hint: it is on the right) So if you held the blade in your right hand and then performed proper insertion technique, where would your light be aiming? Would you have enough light to see? Not so sure....

First, I am not offended. I do tire of narrow views and ignorance so I attempt to educate to prevent future recurrences. Someday the world will be at peace but that will only be when there is no religion. Ever gonna happen? Not a chance! Therefore, peace is unattainable. Aren't all religions "some peoples interpretation"? If you disagree, since I know your religion I will point you in the direction of a book titled The Bible..The Biography by Karen Armstrong. Intolerance to the killing in the name of a religion? The only reason Christianity exists today is because of killings, other wise it would have been stamped out thousands of years ago when the Christian Jews split from the Jewish sect and were being persecuted. Had the Emperor at that time not been a convert, the decimation would have been complete and those who compiled the Bible would have been killed or never existed due to links of their lineage killed before they were born. Christians were called atheists for a very long time, this was term specifically for them, why? Because they did not have polytheistic beliefs at that time, since they did not recognize the other gods, they were "atheist". For all the same reasons you do not understand their beliefs, I do not understand yours. I am aware of them, I study them, but for the life of me I just can not comprehend how one could believe such. In spite of my lack of understanding, I have learned to adjust my actions and reactions around the person, who they truly are, what they do and not how they believe. I know you are a smart guy and fun to be around and that is enough for me. I do not let a belief system or an intolerance of one ruin a chance for me to meet someone interesting, to have that experience in life...but, as I said, I will not understand. And finally, if you knew he was a Hindu from the start why did you quote him directly and go off ranting on an entirely different religion? Why the tease/insult about virgins? I am sure if one studied the Hindu belief system, you would find other interesting things to tease about aside from virgins (caste system, reincarnation, and cows for starters).
-
Sorry dude, first, Muslims do not believe in reincarnation and the virgin count is higher than 40. Second, people of India are of the Hindu faith, nothing to do with Islam. They also tend to show a wee bit more tolerance than what has been displayed by those of the Christian faith thus far in regards to attacking one who speaks of his beliefs.

Well said and I agree with you 100% in regards to the reaction I have when I read such drivel. I hate text talk and I struggle with this daily in my interactions with my younger family members. It takes no significant amount of time to write out exactly what needs to be said in an intelligent manner as opposed to cutesy short cuts. Geez, there used to be days when we hand wrote everything and now typing it takes too long? Anyways, great post and your ideas will be taken into consideration.

You keep all times the same as your point of origin. Just like when we fly and cross state lines, you state of origin is the scope of practice you follow. Since your "home" dispatch is the one keeping the times (usually) those will not change and those are what you use. If you are on a run and the time changes, you still document like it never did and a note is made in the event that this particular report is ever called into question during a legal proceeding. I rather have a comment that the clocks were set back an hour instead of my report and treating therapies being documented prior to my arrival.

Awesome...wanna share a room mate?

I just paid for both days. I also just purchased my plane ticket...I will arrive on the 8th around 330pm and depart on the 11th. I have held off booking my hotel as I know some people may be strapped for cash and want to share...I am open to that possibility but not definite on it. I will have a rental car as well. This will be great! AK....
