  1. All of AK's comments in BOLD above...
  2. WHY?? Why would you do these procedures? So basically, you are advocating assaulting a patient (IV) and providing other unneeded treatments simply to stick the facility with an invoice and to punish the nurse?
  3. Ok, well since we are both in Florida, just mail them to me or better yet, name a place and I will meet you there and take possession of them. I know a real good way to get rid of them, so don't you worry.
  4. Maybe my Google-Fu is not up to snuff but I am having a hard time finding the following info for these particular units. Can anyone assist? 2004 F350 4x4 and a 2000 F250 4x4 Type I Ambulances Weight: Height: Width: Length: Thank you in advance!
  5. Thanks Vent, stellar reply as always!!
  6. Hell I do not know anymore now. I have re read and confused myself even more. I could be wrong, may be wrong...waiting on OP to come back and explain. I hate those tricky worded questions, cause it appears I was on the right track then I took a major detour into the ditch. I have no problem saying it appears A is the correct answer but still hate the way they word the question.
  7. Whats the deal with saving messages anyways...LOL. I dont get it???
  8. I am scheduling a trip to Bakersfield to inspect some ambulances for purchase. Have not solidified the dates as of yet, however just wanted to see who lives there or close by...thought maybe we could do lunch. AK...
  9. D is the answer.
  10. Compress for as long as it would take you to spit tobacco juice 5 times into your soda can/bottle.
  11. Do not be surprised if you see 50:2 or 100:2 compression/ventilation ratio.
  12. You do not need c collars or ET tubes.
  13. Wish granted, however only 2 people purchased lottery tickets this week, so the "jackpot" was only 2 bucks. I wish people would use spell check more often and proof read for grammatical errors prior to clicking on submit. (Did I spell grammatical properly)?
  14. Granted, you are now a statue covered in bird poo... I wish I was three inches taller.
  15. Granted but now divorce rate just increase 10 fold, all marriages ceased, all politicians became non existent, all kids are now permanent grounded and a whole slew of other associated issues I could not think of... I wish I could run as fast as a cheetah
  16. So if we are created in his image, then why must we alter ourselves from it?? Did he create us imperfect and we are rectifying it or were we perfect and he wants us altered to show a covenant to his ways? Regardless, think of all those poor lost souls that never chopped off the end of their dicks...may ye all burn in hell. If you want to reach back as far as Abraham, remember that only 12000 members of the 12 original tribes will see everlasting glory. So, out of the billions of people alive and the billions which have already perished, only 144,000 of them were going to Val Halla anyways...I think it also stipulated those 144,000 would be undefiled by women which indicates they were/will be male. Pick and choose what works, scrap the rest.
  17. As you were sitting there watching tv, I stood in front of you and dropped my pants. FULL MOON no doubt. I wish I could find those pictures of teri in lingerie that were circling the net for a while.
  18. Granted, your new name is NEMO however and your fins are pretty. I wish I could have meatloaf for dinner.
  19. Give away 40 Trillion dollars??? 40,000,000,000,000???? Sucks for all the 49 year olds...do we repeat it again in a few years with this amazing new economy created by this brilliant idea?? What about future health care costs..how does this factor in? Also, please keep this statistic in mind....50 is NOT old despite what you think at your young age. A man is in his workforce prime at age 50, he has the most experience, knowledge, wisdom to pass on to the younger recruits. Are you suggesting we lose all of these valuable resources simply for what appears on the surface to be a quick and simple fix? I would be a whole lot dumber than I am now had it not been for all the "geriatrics" I have worked alongside with in my life or been taught by at schools. What a shame...
  20. Wish granted....the word FUTURE has been lasered on your retinas, you will forever see the future now. I wish I was able to speak any language I chose.
  21. Your wish is granted, you will read minds, everyone's minds. All their thoughts will be delivered via UPS everyday at 0900 neatly printed out, so that you may read minds...hope you have a lot of storage space and a good filing system. I wish I could fly without the use of any external means, only with my natural born with human form.
  22. Class Act on the Loose My personal favs are Yeti and AK
  23. Wow...so what have you guys been using or doing in the last 5 to 6 years or so...and I ask this in sincerity, why did it take so long to reach you and why did you not hear of this prior to it being mandated? What are they teaching in schools and con ed? Not picking on ya mate, but these are questions that need to be asked if we are to improve the overall education as there are many others in the same situation as you most likely.
  24. "New"???? We were utilizing SMART Triage in Florida since 2002-03 or so...maybe sooner but I am sure it was one of those years. Maybe this is where my ignorance may permeate but I thought it was the standard of care in the US and the only system taught these days...
  25. No big shocker there. Unfortunately, we will just lessen the hiring standards as we do with everything else when it becomes to hard to obtain. This reminds me of a thread on a different site that basically was saying we should not "discriminate" against overweight partners. If you are overweight, out of shape, no matter how good you think you are at your job, do not forget this....I or your partner still carry you. We still share the burden of your weight whether you realize it or not. A lot of times, we cover for you without even realizing we are doing it. I have worked with overweight partners and I found myself grabbing the heavy equipment or even all the equipment if there was a walk or stairs involved, because I knew my partner would not be able to. I do not want to be at the patient's side with nothing in my hands because my partner has not made it to the scene yet, or if he has to spend the next 5 minutes gaining his breath. If there was something needed out of the truck quickly, I was the one who went for it quickly. If there was a cumbersome position or a vehicle crash with tight spots, I was the one going in. The defenders will say it is a partnership and you make up for your partner's weaknesses as you are sure to have some of your own that he covers as well. I say bull shit because his overweightness will eventually get me injured due to his inability to perform on the job safely. This is a high stress, high performance job, but not on every single call. Therefore, people think they have a right to this job if they can meet the standards 80% of the time. I am all for employer sponsored fitness programs and requirements. There are no studies that say exercise is bad for you and tons that say it is good. The benefits spill over into so many realms for both the employer and employee that are beneficial to all. I definitely think the hiring standards should be elevated as well. Imagine what it would be like in EMS if we raised education and weight standards. This is not a slam on obese, overweight, fat or whatever you call yourself...this is a slam on the fact that one day, you will injure yourself beyond repair or much worse, you will injure me and end my career.
