  1. Finish your schooling. Then if you are feeling patriotic 4 years from now, go sign up and be an officer. The wars will still be going on...somewhere, so there will be plenty for you to do and a desperate need for intelligent leaders. Being an IDC in the Navy is a pretty sweet gig. I would never choose being an ARMY grunt medic over IDC if I had the choice. If you want action, remember the Navy supplies the Marines with all their medical support....so you would always be first in somewhere and you would be where the action is.
  2. Well, crochity would be proud....the ultimate irony. It seems my guys may very well have had one of the first accidents of 2009!!! I am sure there were others before this one, however they are not always reported as there is no central mandatory reporting agency. Anyways, military bases are considered American soil for all legal purposes, so this accident occurred in Afghan but on a base none the less. While responding to a call, the guys were hit by a truck. It ripped off the back door, no one was injured.
  3. Sup. Just go join the military now and get your training/exposure for free. Of course you will not be an EMT Basic in the ARMY, you will be called a medic and trained to their standards which has no crossover to the civilian world but at least you can be there now doing that stuff.
  4. I seen them, thought they would of been larger....SOMEDIC"S sure were. AK sends...
  5. Can I thank myself? Anywho, funny article. A committee to decide what to do, hmmm, seems simple enough to me. "Well below the 15 response time which is average for the state".
  6. I ALWAYS read, and yes, I commented on your "former" paramedic status in another thread you neglected to respond to.
  7. I agree. Now go start your own thread, do not hijack mine!
  8. Did you take this thread seriously? Did you miss the joke or sarcasm? Oh well...
  9. You would think, but alas, I am human and not devoid of emotion or opinion. There are times in the past when I have been deeply involved in threads and refused to mod them personally due to potential bias. I always ask admin to step in and keep an eye open. Believe me, he is watching constantly as of recent. I would think a former professional paramedic dedicated to raising awareness on multiple issues would try a different approach in order to spread the message or gain momentum on all these important issues affecting our industry, instead of running them into the ground due to attitude despite being informed multiple times by multiple members that the style chosen to use is just not working. Meh....oh well.
  10. Yeppers, I have said the same thing. Took the time to explain how the posts were coming across, how good topics were being lost due to attitude. It fell on deaf ears. Nothing left to do but have fun. Do not turn yourself into a victim, change yourself or your approach rather, so others may benefit. As for the study you posted, I just regained consciousness from shock as it was the first time you have EVER posted supporting evidence. Absolutely amazing....keep it up and you may have some credibility again, like when you first joined, you know...before you took this weird sour turn and became a bit of an arse.
  11. There was a number Come on man. you can do it!
  12. How many jiggawatts did the professor need in Back to the Future?
  13. Thats a nice topic. Please start your own thread about it.
  14. Just getting ready...it is inevitable.
  15. No I did not make your point. You are continuing to make a statement that has no basis on fact. That is sheer ignorance. Well it was until you were informed. After being informed and continuing to make the same statement means you have crossed from ignorance into stupidity. You will not use my responses to promote your flawed agenda.
  16. If scientific studies have NOT been done due to a lack of awareness of this issue, how do you state or support the above conclusion?
  17. I never said I had studies. I asked if you had read any. I also said I could list several other conditions more time sensitive for a positive outcome than an arrest. Reading comprehension not up to par, eh? If you want a list of those, Vent already touched on several of them as any entry level paramedic could do as well. But I could redo it if it makes you happy.
  18. Pssst, don't ignore me as usual.
  19. You know I was joking right? I could never be so dense... Now quit going off topic and stay focused. No one is participating in my scientific poll or contributing facts to debunk my feelings.
  20. Can you please support this statement? To what do you reference?
  21. Oh crap....I did this thread under my name instead of the crochity pseudonym....my bad.
  22. I feel that medics should have to retire by age 45 no matter what. I think people's health and physical abilities are declining by then and it will only be a short while before their minds go too. Their reaction times are starting to slow, so this will help prevent ambulance accidents. They are starting to get crochity as well, so this will prevent them from souring the newbies with their old ways and stubbornness. There are many other reasons which I may or may not post later. What do you think? Actually I do not care, I am sure...wait, I KNOW I am right in this, so just get on board and agree please.
  23. Nah, you bore me for the most part.
