Not at all Ruff. I just wanted to make sure the ENTIRE story/information was put out.
-
And if you read the snopes link provided in its entirety, especially the paragraph at the very bottom, you will find this information. One, there is a real virus but over time and through internet has been merged with the hallmark episode. Basically two different virus warnings are now being combined into one horrific threat. The words below are from the snopes.com site: "Although the Postcard virus is real, it isn't a "BIG VIRUS COMING" (it's already been around in multiple forms for a long time now), it will not "burn the whole hard disc" of your computer, CNN didn't classify it as the "worst virus" ever, and it doesn't arrive in messages bearing a subject line of 'invitation'.

10,000 calls a year and they utilize vollies in addition to their paid staff? What type of department is this? City, County, Private? Do they have a union? If I were a full timer at your station, I would not be pleased with volunteers as they remove some potential overtime. As long as they do not use vollies in lieu of a paid member but then that would have to be in writing and you typically will not see that kind of language or agreement without a union being involved. Please tell me more about your organization. You do not have to name it but give me a state to have some idea. How many ambos do you have, how many paid members and how many vollies? Is this a fire/ems dept as well? And finally, take Ruff's advice.

It was more of a back than a butt... regardless, I found it surprisingly erotic

Very nice....What a motivator to study

Yes I saw that Ruff, and ironically, did you notice that dozens of the disability claims occurred while they were acting in an "out of rank" position? For example, a Captain was working as a BC behind a desk and suffered a disability. Amazing how all these serious injury cases occurred in the office while working out of rank were with senior FD members (ones nearing retirement or been in long enough to retire).

Do you warn other motorist that cops are around? Dangerous?

WOW!! Michael are you ok? This is the shortest statement I have EVER seen you make and I did not even need a dictionary, thesaurus, and other various reference materials to comprehend it....I am amazed!! -
Bill of No Rights by Lewis W. Napper We, the sensible of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid any more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some common sense guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt-ridden delusional, and other liberal, commie, pinko bedwetters. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that a whole lot of people were confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim that they require a Bill of No Rights. You do not have the right to a new car, big-screen color TV or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything. You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone -- not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc., but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be. You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful, do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all of your relatives independently wealthy. You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes. You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care. You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and kill you. You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big-screen color TV or a life of leisure. You do not have the right to demand that our children risk their lives in foreign wars to soothe your aching conscience. We hate oppressive governments and won't lift a finger to stop you from going to fight if you'd like. However, we do not enjoy parenting the entire world and do not want to spend so much of our time battling each and every little tyrant with a military uniform and a funny hat. You do not have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have one, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities in education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful. You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to pursue happiness -- which, by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an overabundance of idiotic laws created by those around you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.

Respect for the dead?? Which is exactly what I asked in my post. Are they supposed to mourn and act differently or I am a callous hard ass who sees no such disrespect going on? I always thought being respectful of the dead would be going on about your life. It is a body, it has ceased living. Do we need to make it more complicated than that? As I said earlier, yes it would cause a moment of inner reflection, empathy for whatever family members will no longer enjoy their flesh and blood presence, but other than that...what more do you want? I should move my camp further down the beach? What if it was very crowded or that was the best spot? What if I had planned going to the beach for weeks, finally managed to get the time off to enjoy with whomever I choose and then this happens. As a human and out of respect I should put all that aside and incovienence myself, even if the thought of dead children laying next to me on the beach does not disturb me, as I am ok with the circle of life and have no personal issues over death or dead bodies? Are your beliefs more correct than mine in saying it is disrespectful to stay on site? Just curious....

The article is linked below with pictures. The gist of it is this. 2 young girls drowned on a crowded beach. Their bodies were laid on the sand and covered with towels until the "mortuary police" arrive with coffins one hour later. Everyone is upset about this photograph that shows a couple still sitting on the beach with the bodies in view. The article goes on to describe how people continued to laugh, drink, sunbathe, swim despite the bodies laying there covered. First, evidently it is common practice in this region to wait on the coffins to arrive despite it being a public death. We all know the typical US response would be authorities securing the scene and the bodies being removed very quickly, especially in a situation where there was no foul play indicated. But what gets me is the upset over the fact that people continued to have a good day, or at elast tried. I agree with them. What would have been proper behavior? To leave the beach and ruin your outing? To go mourn over the bodies? What exactly did they want these people to do? It seems like a lot of shock and outrage over something trivial. The kids drowned, very sad indeed but should that take away from your day? Would you completely change your plans because soomeone died? Rest assured the thought would not be far from my mind, I would have a moment or two of inner reflection, however I would not change anything about my planned events. Oh well....let me know what you think. http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/0...html?eref=yahoo

I seem to recall offering some benevolence your way for Florida but you still chose to snub us.... j/k

No this is not true either. Not everyone gets NR when they get their medic and no it is not a requirement to maintain either....unless you were referring to a specific state or service and I overlooked it. But in general, your statement is inaccurate.

College Paper-Emeregncy Medical Technicans and EMS

Crikey! I will just buy one from those online sites that guarentees an A. -
Two words: National Registry As a guy who has done a lot of traveling and held a medic license in 8 different states, the one thing that facilitated my reciprocity was having National Registry. In several of the states, it allowed me instant reciprocity; other states it allowed me to challenge their state medic exam so I could get a state cert. I have looked into this due to the nature of my work over the years and I have found states that will not recognize any of your prior education/training without holding National. If you moved there with your NC state card, they would require you to repeat the entire program. So, in summary...Get Your National Registry

I just finally got around to reading this thread. Very interesting indeed! As I was reading, one thought instantly jumped in my head and the only person who touched on it was Mateo. Everyone keeps saying "below the panty line", what exactly does this mean? For all we know, she could wear her very comfortable "bloated day" panties all the time and below the panty line for her is the xyphoid process. This tattoo could be 4 inches superior to her navel and still be "below the panty line". In all seriousness, if it were placed in very close proximity to a private area, I could see the validity of this complaint. But until we know more information, I see a woman trying to make bank. And yes, if it were my wife, I absolutely would see no harm, no foul in this incident. Has anyone thought to consider that he chose a place she may see it? We do not know what type of surgery she had. I mean back surgery yes, but what restrictions? Maybe he knew she would be unable to turn her head to look at her arms, I dont know, just considering all options. -
I had a few other puns that I tried to drop in on the conversation, glad someone noticed them. Anyways, not to make this thread trivial as it seems to be a real issue for some people, I really can not see the fuss over the muss. I just do not see how this event occurring would have any significant impact on my life, therefore when it does occur, it is very easy to ignore.

Rude to whom?? Rude to you, the stall mate? If it were a client, yes it would be rude. But you stated he said "hi honey" so maybe between the two of them it is not rude. As far as the ick factor, if he choose to contaminate his phone, then that is his choice. I do not think it is a public hazard, because how many people do you share your phone with? As far as contaminating, I may be a wee bit more skilled but I do not think I have ever soiled my hands or much less came in contact with "ick" while cleaning myself. Again as far as the cleanliness of a public bathroom, there have been multiple studies that showed it to be much cleaner than any doorknob you may touch. Personally, I do not find it disgusting or rude to anyone in the bathroom, now on the other end, yes it may be rude depending on who you are conversing with.
-
I think you think too much Ruff...LOL. Honestly it does not bother me one iota. They can jabber all day, I won't be there that long and quite honestly their conversation would have no impact on my bathroom abilities, so...relax man! I do not consider it rude nor intrusive. We are in a bathroom for crying out loud. Restaraunts, theater, other public venues, yes it is rude, but a toilet stall, no worries.

I am open to suggestions on anywhere to go, things to do or see. I will land in Portland then drive over to Sebago, so let me know if you have any recomendations.
