But I believe I'm ready for what love has to bring I've got myself together Now i'm ready to sing. I've been searching my soul tonight I know there's so much more to life Now I know I can shine a light to find my way back home. Baby. Yeah. Oh Yeah. Ally McBeal Heres one for you all..... 5. To whom it may concern: I appreciate loyalty and honesty in my friendships. I will be deleting people who play the game Flutter starting tonight when I get home from work. The only people that are safe are those that are is the group Flutter Bliss and people that I play other games with, such as Fairyland and Farmville.

  6. I've never heard of this brand. I have used several ePCR programs and the one that I like the best is the Zoll program. Very user friendly and adaptable to your specific needs. We use the add-on with blue tooth to transmit EKG's to the hospital and on-call cardiologist's personal e-mail. Depending on where we are in the county, it can save about 10 minutes from door to cath lab time.
  7. The company I work for just replaced all of our traction splints with the ITD. They are a couple hundred dollars compared to the 8 or 9 hundred (or more). They are super easy to use and training takes oh....about as long as it took me to type this. And they take up much less room.

  9. If you ask me if I remember where I was or what i did last Tuesday, I probably couldn't tell you. But if you ask me if I remember where I was & what I was doing 10 years ago on Tuesday, September 11, 2001... I could give you the 'exact' details!! PLEASE REPOST THIS for our fallen heroes as a promise that we will NEVER FORGET!! THE WHOLE WORLD WILL NEVER FORGET !!!!!!!

  10. off to bed..been up since 3 this morning, listening to the water hit the pots on the floor and worrying about my Aunt and my Dad. Phone lines are still out in Nichols, I just hope he is okay. River crested in Binghamton at 26 ft, river will crest in Wilkes Barre PA at 41 ft. Prayers to all affected by the flooding

  11. Did u know that the people that seem the strongest are usually the most sensitive? Did u know that the people who exhibit the most kindness are usually the first to get mistreated? Did u know the ones who take care of others all the time are usually the ones that need it the most? Did u know the 3 hardest things to say are: I love you, I'm sorry and Help me

  12. LOL Ash...I guess my tough love talk worked. In a perfect world, every patient will be a stay and play type, giving you time to think about what your going to do and then do it. No pressure, no stress. However, in the real world, we often do not have that kind of time. Now is the time to find your feet, your way of doing things. Hone your critical thinking, decide on your treatment plan and then...just do it. There will come a time, when you won't have a safety net and right or wrong, you will be responsible for your actions. Be prepared to stand by your decisions and defend them if necessary. Its that first big step that hangs ALL of us up. We all have gone through this and survived it. You will too. Take the plunge...you won't regret it and you will be amazed
  13. sdomogarova...we can't understand what it is you replied with. Can you translate to English please? @ Dwayne..we absolutely need more AED's in the field. This one was used the way it was supposed to be used. I really dont understand why they were told not to use it. In any event it saved the kid's life and thats a win for all involved

    wow!

Doogie Howser syndrome I'm guessing. How in the world did he get so far in without someone questioning who he was and where he came from? I feel bad for the patients that he took advantage of.

  17. It did use to be alot of fun. I miss it alot. I still go in every once in awhile but usually there isnt anyone around.
  18. Under our Medical Direction we are not allowed to give Ipatropium to pediatric patients. The Doc always tells us Albuterol only. I am not sure why it is this way. I stand corrected ERDoc. I was wrong...wow...how often do you here that!!???
  19. Jake.. nope no Mag. Sulfate in our protocols. And Crotchity just because we CAN give meds doesnt mean that we SHOULD give meds. Especially someone else's drugs. AND if it is a Combivent MDI then we couldnt use it anyway. Ipatropium is contraindicated in pediatric patients. Just sayin....
  20. This is a great thread!! I wouldnt give the patient someone elses medication, for all the reasons mentioned above. Mathew asked how oxygen could make it worse. ( sorry havent figured out the whole quote thing). If they are in acute and severe respiratory distress, 15 liters of oxygen by non rebreather can actually shut thier respiratory drive down. I've seen it happen...now you have a respiratory arrest on your hands. In the short term, it will help some but they need the nebulized meds to actually help stop the attack. Our protocol is nebulized Albuterol/Ipatropium. Consider Epi 1:1000 0.3cc sq. Contact Med Control for additiional Albuterol/Ipatropium. Monitor respiratory status continuously and be prepared to deal with respiratory and cardiac arrest.
  21. As far as I am aware, UNYAN has not been activated yet. But I am sure that they have been in contact with my boss. We went to Louisiana and Texas, not sure if we will go to NC or NYC yet. I'm sure I will get the text page for the 2 hour activation if the phone call is made. Please be smart and stay safe!
  22. Welcome to the City! Questions are always welcome but expect to get your thread hijacked lol. I've been working in EMS for 20 years, been a medic for just over 3. I'm in upstate NY, Chemung County. There's alot of good info on this site and lots of people ready and willing to help you along. Have fun
  23. I dont know about any of you...but I dont carry iodine on my ambulance except in the IO kit. If there is debris in the wound, I would irrigate it with sterile water and then bandage it. If its bleeding, then it gets a pressure dressing and elevation. I dont bandage all cuts and scrapes. Unless there are other traumatic injuries, I dont usually transport either, as long as they are capable or of age to refuse transport. If they are underage, I transport. If they are drunk, I transport. For the hospitals in the area I live in, transport time is less than 10 minutes. I had a kid today that put his hand through a window. He had a bleeding cut on his thumb and scrapes on his arm. The thumb got my attention. The scrapes had stopped oozing and the blood had clotted. So the thumb got bandaged and the scrapes got left alone. Mom was freaking out..I spent more time trying to get her calmed down than I did while assessing him, getting vitals and bandaging his thumb.

  25. No you dont want our opinion. You want us to agree with you and your ideas. I somehow truly doubt that will ever happen.
