Things like this make me upset, if god forbid something happened to me in the LOD I would hope to at least be honored with my proper title, something I earned, and apparently dedicated my life to. God bless you EMT .... RIP

Although I love animals, This seems like a stupid thing to do ... yes a rescue effort should be mounted, getting yourself waist deep in frozen water simply defies scene safety ... I can attest they were not trained for such a rescue attempt. -

Your Illinois EMT-B License is valid for a 4-year period. With in those 4 years you must obtain CPR certification and 120 hours of continuing education with only 30 hours in each category. Illinois also accepts a limited number of On-Line CEUs for re-licensure. That's all I could find .. Best advice I have for you is ask the ALS ambulance crew you're riding with where to get your hours ...

There was a discussion in another thread http://www.emtcity.com/index.php?showtopic=15212&st=10 about how old is too old to work in EMS ... What do you think ? Personally I think as long as you can do the job, that's all that matters. Age weight height shouldn't matter as long as you can "adapt and over come" EDIT : Oh crap put it in the wrong place by clicking new topic on a thread, please move to EMS discussion or other ... Thank you....

Of course it would, it is always a benefit to increase the minimum education level, but the reality is how would you propose to get that to be the standard? Even if that is the standard still can't be certain that would help the experience vs. immediate medic class. -
At least there will be a vaccine and we can end the excessive silliness ...
