What are good places to buy EMS gear- pants, boots, etc. in Chicago? In town for a few days figured I'd take a look. Thanks in advance for your help!

I practiced assesments on my dogs...using Review dispatch, over view scene, C Spine, Level of Consciousness, Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Deformities, Expose.....then either rapid trauma, heat to etc. and then SAMPLE/OPQRST. I'd say the best questions are those that are harder to answer ie not do you have a cough, but is the cough productive or how long have you had the cough.....where is the headache in your head....etc.

That was all in our pharmacology book which we got into at paramedic level.

I took the Paramedic exam for the 3rd time....stopped at 131...and passed! So 131 is my new lucky number.

Congratulations! I have failed the written once but passed the practical this weekend. The CBT process is a new one and I think a second chance will see me thru

Pt. 65 year old female, diff. breather. 5 LPM NC improves breating. Has headache 10/10, pupils equal, pmsX4, equal grips no facial or arm drip. No chest pain. Had been in ER day before for nausea/vomiting. I thought a 12 lead was warranted. My preceptor felt an IV was more important. My 12 lead preference was based on the following: A. High incidence of atypical MI in females B. Difficulty breathing C. 12 lead as assesment tool could help guide what the IV would be used for. So, what's more important IV or 12 lead?

1. Stethoscope....kind of funny on the way to a call I'll out gloves on and 'scope and for some reason I fell more 'medical'. I don't know that it needs to be there but it has gotten to be a habit. 2. Multitool in puch on belt rh side. 3. Shears rh cargo pocket stowed in the proved loops 4. LH cargo pocket Tarascon Pocket Pharmacopoeia 2007 Classic shirt pocket edition 5. LH Pocket notepad, pen. 6. LH cargo pocket outside in glove pocket 2 pairs. 7. RH pocket Mag Lite LED flashlight 8. Has anybody used a product such as is at Venoscope Do they work to improve IV success? Plusses and minuses?

Beginnign 1 April I have a 250 hour internship to conclude my Paramedic program. What I am trying to do is set a few goals for myself. For instance I need to improve my IV skills. Or we've yet to do 12 leads so I want to learn that and apply it as much as I can. What I'm looking for is some other goals be they concrete or abstract I could use to get the most of this 250 hours. For those with lots of street time what would your goals be if you could go back and do an internship? For more recent students how did you use such time? Thanks in advance for your help!

Going down a slide at a water park.

Had a paraplegic patient who stated they had a broken femur. Of course one of the things to during an exam is pulse, movement and sensation in the leg. This is not possible with a paraplegic. How would you all handle such a scenario?
