  1. Hello, Let me start by saying that I am not an EMT or Paramedic, although I would love to be one. However, I do own and operate an emergency medical transport business where I am on call 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year. My company specializes in emergency transport of blood and human organs to hospitals, medical facilities, and labs across 4 different states. I enjoy this line of work because I take part in saving lives. Although I am not an EMT or paramedic, I do consider myself and my company as part of the EMS family. Just to give you an example of my day, a hospital is in need of blood supply for critical ill PT. They phone the request for blood to a blood bank which my company is subcontracted to, I then get a call for a STAT delivery to that hospital. I run lights and siren to make that delivery. This is a typical day for me not necessarily every call. Some calls are ASAP calls which don’t require lights and sirens, other calls can be for medical equipment. Sometimes I also do donor recovery runs where time is essential where I have to donor organs to an airport or medical facility. Nevertheless, I draw a lot of attention from police and other’s because it’s something they have never seen before. Yet, there are well established organizations that have done this for years like NORA. I’m in the process of getting my vehicle registered as an Emergency Vehicle in PA where my company is based out of. This process can take 8-10 weeks. I have taken CEVO-5 training along with other certifications. I have a commercial driver’s license class A and have driven commercial vehicles for the past 6 and half years. I also have a medical background and education. I used to be a medical assistant where I assisted in out patient surgery, I have a Bachelor’s degrees in medicine, and a Master’s degree in Accounting. I hope that you welcome me because I can learn a lot from you all here.
