  1. Ceiling fans are awesome, put socks on there and watch them fly, it helped pass the time of boredom. Of course the socks have to be foled up in order to make them go further like that of a baseball, except without the breaking of anything.

    $500

A beautiful BLONDE woman was walking down the street when she was >approached by a man. > >The man said, " I want to have SEX with you right now! I'll drop 500 >dollars on the ground at your feet and in the time it takes for you to >pick it up I will make love to you from behind and be on my way!" > >The woman thought it over and told the man to wait a minute. She called >her girlfriend on her cell phone and told her about the man's >proposition. > >Her girlfriend said " When he drops the $500 on the ground I'm sure you >can pick it up and run before he gets his pants down. >Call me back and tell me what happened." > >An hour and a half later the lady called her girlfriend back. > >"What happened?" the girlfriend asked. > >The lady said, " That Son-Of-A-Bitch had $500 in quarters!"

  10. The Necklace.... The cheerful little girl with bouncy golden curls was almost five. Waiting with her mother at the checkout stand, she saw them, a circle of glistening white pearls in a pink foil box. "Oh mommy please, Mommy. Can I have them? Please, Mommy, please?" Quickly the mother checked the back of the little foil box and then looked back into the pleading blue eyes of her little girl's upturned face. "A dollar ninety-five. That's almost $2.00. If you really want them, I'll think of some extra chores for you and in no time you can save enough money to buy them for yourself. Your birthday's only a week away and you might get another crisp dollar bill from Grandma." As soon as Jenny got home, she emptied her penny bank and counted out 17 pennies. After dinner, she did more than her share of chores and she went to the neighbor and asked Mrs. McJames if she could pick dandelions for ten cents. On her birthday, Grandma did give her another new dollar bill and at last she had enough money to buy the necklace. Jenny loved her pearls. They made her feel dressed up and grown up. She wore them everywhere, Sunday school, kindergarten, even to bed. The only time she took them off was when she went swimming or had a bubble bath. Mother said if they got wet, they might turn her neck green. Jenny had a very loving daddy and every night when she was ready for bed, he would stop whatever he was doing and come upstairs to read her a story. One night as he finished the story, he asked Jenny, "Do you love me?" "Oh yes, daddy. You know that I love you." "Then give me your pearls." "Oh, daddy, not my pearls. But you can have Princess, the white horse from my collection, the one with the pink tail. Remember, daddy? The one you gave me. She's my very favorite." "That's okay, Honey, daddy loves you. Good night." And he brushed her cheek with a kiss. About a week later, after the story time, Jenny's daddy asked again, "Do you love me?" "Daddy, you know I love you." "Then give me your pearls." "Oh Daddy, not my pearls. But you can have my baby doll. The brand new one I got for my birthday. She is beautiful and you can have the yellow blanket that matches her sleeper." "That's okay. Sleep well. God bless you, little one. Daddy! loves you." And as always, he brushed her cheek with a gentle kiss. A few nights later when her daddy came in, Jenny was sitting on her bed with her legs crossed Indian style. As he came close, he noticed her chin was trembling and one silent tear rolled down her cheek. "What is it, Jenny? What's the matter?" Jenny didn't say anything but lifted her little hand up to her daddy. And when she opened it, there was her little pearl necklace. With a little quiver, she finally said, "Here, daddy, this is for you." With tears gathering in his own eyes, Jenny's daddy reached out with one hand to take the dime store necklace, and with the other hand he reached into his pocket and pulled out a blue velvet case with a strand of genuine pearls and gave them to Jenny. He had them all the time. He was just waiting for her to give up the dime-store stuff so he could give her the genuine treasure. So it is, with our Heavenly Father. He is waiting for us to give up the cheap things in our lives so that he can give us beautiful treasures. Isn't God good? Are you holding onto things that God wants you to let go of? Are you holding on to harmful or unnecessary partners, relationships, habits and activities that you have come so attached to that it seems impossible to let go? Sometimes it is so hard to see what is in the other hand but do believe this one thing: God will never take away something without giving you something better in its place. The greatest gifts happen when you share love and touch others.

  13. I have a kink on the right side of my neck and my back (shoulder blade) the pain is really bad but you wont expect a call anytime soon unless I OD on the muscle relaxants I have. I cannot believe what these people are thinking, can you not swear, kick the garbage can, throw a temper tantrum? Our EMS tell ppl here if your having difficulty still, you could always call us back and we will try to hurry them up. Really? I guess the emergency isnt really that bad-or the medics who came to a guy unconscious on the major road here, turned out he was so drunk that the best place for him to pass out was right where he dropped-on the shoulder of the road.
  14. If Littman is such the popular steth it is, why sell the cheap ones, after hearing from a medic here in Calgary, ok over hearing from a medic at the Foothills saying to an EMT-A, It is your preferrence, depends if ya got good hearing. And the fact they arent cheap either, the one I have I paid $20 cdn and with a minor amount of noise it is very hard to hear anything especially the rubbing of your finger over the top & postioning of it.

  16. Actually the funeral home puts it out and if you want to send CONDOLENCES thats how it goes. Dont get me wrong, it wasnt intentionally ment to remind them but to let them know I care. When my Dad passed away, we had someone from the mormon group send us a letter stating if we wanted them to come over and talk with us, when it stated the church in which we belong too. I wasnt going to say anything about this but you asked in a way you maynot know of, but Ruff when my son was still born and we had a funeral for him, I wanted to die right there, anything you could of said to me was like the wind blowing me by, I wouldnt of heard you, I wanted him to live and me dead, his father didnt care he left me. I am starting a new life and I can still have kids but not at my age, yes some of the women my age have had babies, I'm just not prepared too. I look in the Obits because sometimes we find relatives who passed and not always do we get a call from cousins on this and I also pray for the family who lost that dear soul. You're right I have good intentions but I also maynot think, I guess now I will beat myself up over this because I didnt mean to hurt them even further, I'm sorry.
  17. I removed it because I see it wasnt ok when I thought it was ok, when I spoke to the funeral director about it he thought it was a nice jestor but now I see it's not. That's the thing when you offer condolences its an open and shut case, I think from now on when it says Condolences, I will do just that, tell them I'm sorry for your loss, God Bless and leave it at that. TY
  18. I'm trying to explain to my friend the difference between the EMT in the USA and EMT in Canada. she doesnt understand, so I need your help maybe you can explain a little bit more differently for me and I can point her to this. Because we argue about my role wanting to be an EMT, but she says no you want to be a paramedic and I'm like no I dont want to be one of them, no offense its not for me. She thinks Calgary doesnt have EMT's only Medics. Because she has health problems and she has only had medics come. How long is the course for EMT in Canada vs. the EMT in the USA Hey Dust------------your a QT
  19. my emr card looks like it went through the washing machine, it's too late for it no way can I tape it but it makes for a good conversation piece.
  20. So let me get this straight its very slim for a child under 8 to have VF, but any child of any age could suffer and you said 8%. So why couldnt they suffer a VF, most children will suffer a cardic arrest, just trying to understand what VF is vs. PEA?
  21. I have no choice in the matter, because my mother went from the hospital straight to the Nursing care centre.
  22. I'm so glad we had that discussion. . .
  23. Sometimes a entity will mess with your vehicle, moving your things from one part of the room to another, causing lights to flicker (to get your attention). Now with your vehicle as I understand it,this has happened to me before where my car wouldnt start and my father asked me did I flood it and I said no, so I left it for a bit even tho our appt was for 11:30am for the doctor's for my dad. Phoning them telling them we are late, they told me they have to reschedule it, because, someone just plowed through the window where the ppl who come for their appts sit. I never told them about what happened to us, but I believe God was looking out for us, Buddha, Allah however you wanna call it, as they say in scientology (aliens). LOL I have seen about oh few 100 apparitions, some that appear as real as you are to me, silowettes, partial silowettes, ecto-plasm, white smoke as I put it whisp of. At my home, I have several hauntings, I'll be on here (computer) and someone will walk down my hall and no one is there, I'll be down stairs knowing full well my cats on my bed and someone will have walked the floor enough for it to creak. I had an encounter with my dead brother inlaw-how is that so, well let tell you:If for any reason something out of the ordinary should not be at your house, like my niece's b/f moving in and living with my sister and niece etc...This occured in my basement in one paticular area and one area only. I'm watching tv and the strong smell of someone smoking. I got up thinking I know darn well it's not me or my mother, so I move around the room and it's not in the back room where my clothes are, or is it in where my washer and dryer are. So I come back to where I was sitting watching tv and the strength of it is still there. I wondered why he was there, some of them have a reason and I found out later that even though he's deceased he didnt approve of my niece's b/f moving in. Disturbances are just some of the things that can happen, minimal to breaking of things. My sister's dead cat now lives with me, he will rub up against my leg-it's called a brushing by, he's been gone for about 4 yrs now. He was a persian-tabby (gray & white-some black) His name is Sasha, he's Aunty's boy. I was playing my gameboy, if you must know LOL and I was facing east towards my wall, not thinking much about anything in general-I swear to God something jumped on my pillow behind my head, like a heavy jump, thats what suprised me, thinking it was my cat Tippy, so I turn over and said, Hi Tippy but there was no cat, so I thought that was weird. so I got back to playing, a few minutes later again it happened but at my feet, so I'm thinking again this must be Tippy, no cat. so I get up and go upstairs and there's my cat sound asleep on the recliner. I spoke to a medium about somethings other than the cat, didnt have to mention it, the medium I'm talking to is a man, a lady picked up on this. After my reading, the woman said; "Did you hear that? and the medium said what did you think you heard and she said a cat loudly purring and I'm thinking omg what now? She said you have a gray & white cat there with you, he loves you and likes being with you. So when the reading was done, I told them the cat in general was my sister's but he had some problems and had to be put down, which that broke my heart because I had to make the decision. She said well he's with you and I said why me? I said to her I was the last for him to see, the new house my sister lives in now, he doesnt know that house and why he doesnt stay at the old one is beyond me. She told me sometimes when ppl die even animals the energy is so great it will attach its self to it, so thus a haunting begins.
  24. APACHI=Alberta Paranormal Association of Calgary Hauntings & Investigations. For the last 10 yrs let's say I've been off and on researching just about anything but one story I will tell you may leave you questioning the truth since not all return (living-haunting). Being as such you mentioned about hearing voices, when I was in High School and living at home, I was sitting in my room, no one was home except me and our cat. I was reading a teen magazine, I'm facing the doorway (east) and I heard as plain as day a woman's voice said, "Do you think we should tell her?" I looked up and said out loud, yeah I think you should, and the voice said, Ok. That caught me off guard, so I stood up and walked into the hallway and said whose there? never heard that voice again. ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________ I was in the living room, reading readers digest and I'm facing west this time, and it's quiet no sound, I'm pretty sure I heard quite a few voices, then it stopped, so I went back to reading again, then again the voices, by this time I'm thinking I'm tired it's probably nothing. So I got up and got a drink of water and was about to sit down and read but before I sat down to, I passed the stairs where I've been hearing this, this time LOUDER I heard it again, so I leaned down the stairs and said HELLO? By this time your probably scared, dont be it turned out to be my radio was having static problems, my alarm went off. ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________ Since I was 6 yrs old, my 16 yr old sister was killed in MVA (1969) apparently they said the vehicle hit some loose gravel, the car flew about 100 ft in the air breaking in half, one part of the car landed in the tree and the other half on the ground killing my sister, her friend instantly, the 3 college guys ended up in hospital, 2 of them died leaving one to survive. I'm not sure when this happened, 1 week after or month after but my 2 older sisters, my only brother and I are down stairs talking. My sister Judy told us that she told my sister (one who died) if either one of us dies to come back and let us know you crossed over, later that night I'm sitting on the bed, my sister Judy and I looked at each other and fear spread like wild fire. This causing a lot of comotion and my sister Judy said out loud-OMG did you feel that, and I said yeah how did you make the bed move like that, she said I didnt. My other sister started to cry and my brother went upstairs and told our mom that the bed moved all by its self, so our mother came downstairs and sprinkled holy water and the bed stopped moving. I can tell you this, when your only 6 yrs old and have no clue what's going on I thought it was a great trick and I asked my sister to do it again but she told me she couldnt because mom drowned it and made it go away. (I'm catholic). ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________ Here in Calgary we have a cool place called "Heritage Park", and at this place are several haunted dwellings. One place I find quite intriguing is Sam Livingstons place, it is only half of the house but it is still considered haunted. One yr I went to the park with my 2 friends and we walked all over and we ended up at Sam's place, so we walked in, like me I like to talk and I thought my friends went up stairs but they werent anywhere to be found so whilest I was upstairs I said to Sam in spirit: I sure like your house Sam, it's very homey not like the rich house up the street, it's ok but I like yours better. So I come downstairs and the lady that was there cleaning up was no where to be seen, I look out the back door, the front door, nope. I turn around and coming down the stairs was a whisp of smoke then it disappeared. Thats when the lady returned and said she's locking up and we left. Did it scare me, naw but it was cool though. ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________ In 1980 I worked at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary, I was 17 yrs old and we had this pt who already lost one breast to cancer, and then had another operation to remove the other. This lady was a really sweet soul, and she would always ask for me. And when I wasnt working, Pat our head nurse would call me and ask if I would come and visit Betty and I said sure, so I asked my dad to drive me and I'll take the bus home. So I get there and she beams from ear to ear, so glad you could come, and I smiled. Everyday I worked while she was a pt there, because my regular days were only 2 and sometimes 3 but they asked me to work a full 5 and that was ok. Anyway later that after noon I was going to have tea with Betty but the night before she went down hill quick, and that afternoon the next day she passed away. She looked so peaceful laying there, one of her eyes half open, so I told her ty for being so nice to me, such a great friend, all of a sudden something gurgled and they called my name, I'd say I nearly jumped out of my service uniform. The oxygen in the bottle gurgled, then they called my name, it was so darn peaceful I'm lucky I didnt have a heart attack. ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________ Some of us dont understand when ppl die, it's as if they dont believe because they never experienced what I have or the fact your FEAR has tormented you, so you wont go there and I understand completely. When I tell ppl I see dead ppl, never BS someone, you could get put away for like ever. My friend told this Doc in the ER that she sees dead ppl, next thing I get a phone call from the General Hospital (Implosioned-doesnt exist anymore) that I need to pick up her car and I said something like why and the nurse said are you family and I'm like yea or you wouldnt be phoning me if I werent, would you. She said well come and get keys, the psych doctor on call would like to have a word with you, since she said her parents are dead and she's an only child. I'm thinking ok and I go there by cab, I walk into the ER entrance and I ask for Kim Connely, is she a pt here and I'm like I wouldnt of asked you if she wasnt but I said yeah. They gave me her keys then they lead me down the hall to wear she was. They have her wrists tied up and I said OMG Kim what the heck did you do now, she told me the story and we just laughed. So I untie her and she gets up and I found her clothes, she got dressed and we left. As we are going out the sliding doors we heard a code, asking a nurse coming in what it ment, it was for a pt that was missing, considering the fact we knew who. Standing at the bus stop before going to her car, we could see security running all over the place looking but never once stopping and asking who we were. So the next time you say you see dead ppl, let's hope you know the ER doc first.
