  1. I guess I just don't see the "gag". I'm not upset in the least, I just don't understand the motivation of a grown man to register to an EMS website to troll. Are you that desperate for conversation? To each his own I guess.
  2. I suppose if I lived in my Moms basement at the age of 47 I'd be sad too....Now go clean up, Mom made you alphabet soup, give her a hug from me.
  3. Wow.....what a sad little life you must lead....pathetic.
  4. In the ambulance, a good physical exam and maternal hx can be done, pre and post ductal sp02, ekg, glucose, vascular access,etc...What about the remainder of the exam? Lung sounds, heart sounds, ekg, capilary refil? The developing hepatomegaly makes me suspect hepatic congestion secondary to R sided heart failure/RV outflow obstruction given the information we have thus far....standing by awaiting further.
  5. If I had a boy I wouldn't do it, Lord knows I could have used the extra 1/2 inch....
  6. congenital heart defect would be at the top of my list, tachycardic, dyspneic, cyanotic....Does the kid have a duct dependant lesion, and is now in distress secondary to closure of the DA? Damn...got a call....
  7. Remove fetus from toilet and dry....
  8. She is vent dependant, without it she can not survive. She is awake and alert on the vent, and made a sound decision with a sound mind. Personally, I wouldn't want to be kept alive on a vent, so I think it is her choice to make. I wouldn't consider it murder, murder would be giving her a potassium bolus, in this case they turned off a machine, one she was never meant to need to survive. At least thats how I see it.
  9. Agreed....let her go.
  10. The Streamlight Stylus. I got it free from the shop we get our uniforms through.
  11. Too much Jesus....
  12. The controlled environment in the back of the truck would be my prefered spot, you have on board suction, good lighting, privacy, etc...The key is getting properly positioned for your best view.
  13. I believe defib wiz is barking up the right tree....autonomic dysreflexia....
  14. We have the mark 1's for WMD purposes, but carry multiple vials of atropine and lyophylized pralidoxime for use as well.
  15. administer 2mg atropine and 600mg pralidoxime IM, and consider a benzodiazepine, and transport to closest facility. This gentleman is exhibiting classic signs of organophosphate poisoning and should be treated accordingly.....and decon him first too....
  16. more fluid.
  17. I'll second reapers suggestion...
  18. Sample? Are you really gonna fish some of that out of the toilet? I really can't see the benefit, but maybe I'm missing something....
  19. Con-ed would be a great place to start. One of the teaching hospitals here has a multi-million dollar sim lab, obviously not every facility can justfify that, but it is a great tool. OR time for airway management con-ed, OB/GYN, ED rotations for a few medics at time and weekly EMS rounds would also be a nice "peace offering".
  20. While I completely agree with the need for higher education, I disagree that without it we should be paid less than a ff or cop. Even with certificate medics, the amount of "school" involved exceeds that of a fire or police academy, and EMS certainly works a lot harder on average than either other profession. If a cop or ff can be paid $80,000 a year, than so can a medic. Just my opinion.

Thanks for your response. I had read that link when prowling the web for info, only a few places in the US seem to be doing it.
  23. I'm the only one who voted yes....shhhh.....
  24. The nation did not exist as such when various groups of indigenous folks roamed the hills and valleys. They were individual nations to themselves, with a similar ancestry perhaps. Hell, several European nations laid claim to the land, with the English making the most headway, until the disenfranchised Europeans kicked them out. Now there is a well defined international border, and laws that apply to those that live within it.
