  1. Welcome!
  2. From my understanding of A-fib with RVR is that if it has been chronic, converting it in the field can lead to more complications. I have seen several AFRVR cases where they tach along in the 130-170's and the doctors are so so hesitant to treat it because of the increased risk of thromboembolism. I'm too tired right now to do much research, but I believe if it is unclear then err on a-fib until at the ER or if you can have the doc look at the strip and decide, even better.
  3. Prayers his way Mari! This weather is NOT helping anything at all. Send us some moisture people!
  4. More up in RMNP. I'm on bed rest so staying inside right now, but according to hubby it was really awful and smoky yesterday. Glad Babs and Dylan are doing good.
  5. Canon City is getting hit HARD right now...Dwayne...y'all ok down there?!?
  6. Congrats! Now all of the real fun and learning can begin!
  7. One of the purposes of narratives is if in 2 years the case goes to court, you can re-read the narrative and remember all of the things you did on the call. At least that's always what I've seen them for.
  8. I would check with the receiving facility. They will probably know how to handle incoming medical equipment the best. Also, in case you haven't, you should check with the facility/organization that you will be donating this AED to first to make sure they are allowed to accept personal donations of used equipment. Not that this gesture isn't 100% admirable, a lot of organizations have rules that direct what types of equipment donations they can accept. I'm sure others on here can provide some more advice on this.
  9. I have to ask... why are you traveling with an AED?
  10. CHART C-chief complaint...i.e. what's going to kill them first and why they called 911 H-SAMPLE A-subjective and objective assessment of the patient R-treatments/protocol you followed T-transport...how they were transported (cot, ambulating, backboard, restraints, etc).
  11. Not intended to call you out, just that I'm looking at taking an RN-Paramedic bridge class next summer. It would be a year long of mostly cardiac and respiratory emergency management at a community college that teaches both RN and Paramedic degree programs. I let my paramedic lapse when I moved out here to CO a few years back and really miss the field.
  12. I am curious, did you do a stand alone program or an RN-Paramedic bridge?
  13. I doubt anyone here would represent NREMT in an official capacity.
  14. Richard is right... all NREMT questions are better directed to that organization. No one here will have a definitive answer for you since none of us are representatives of NREMT.
  15. You would do well to listen to this bit of advice. Best of luck to you and I hope you stick around the boards!
  16. Too many deaths. My thoughts and prayers are wil everyone who knew this crew.
  17. I haven't been married as long as some here, but I think communication is the biggest barrier to a relationship. I know when hubby and I are working opposite schedules and don't communicate, we tend to argue more. We both know it is an area of our marriage that will always need attention. Obviously sex isn't an issue for us though and we do ok financially, especially now that I am out of school. I think marriage is hard. It takes a lot of attention and focus to keep it working and happy too. I have been enjoying reading people's views though and I am curious how my own marriage will change in 5 months or so when we have 3 instead of just 2!
  18. NCLEX is Pearson Vue too...they sure do have a monopoly on testing.
  19. Done! Looks like you're doing well in the contest so far! I'll post to my fb also and get some more votes your way
  20. What to do...what to do...put some mustard in your shoe! Roll some marbles down the hall, nail your brother to the wall!
  21. That's crazy! I've usually seen s/s of fluid overload with increased rates of infusion, not anaphylaxis. Very interesting case, sorry I didn't chime in sooner! Thanks for sharing!!
  22. I'm with ya. This whole week has just sucked and it really needs to be June already! My heart is just aching right now.
