    As far as nursing programs, I would only look at NLN accredited schools and BSN programs. Like EMS, there is a huge push for bachelor's degreed professionals and most hospitals I know of are limiting their hiring of new-grads to BSN unless you are already in their system. I have never heard of "The college network" but I would look at universities in your area and what their programs are like.

    I'm going to be a mom! I know the ultrasound doesn't look like a whole lot but it's our little bean in there and we're very excited! I'm due Nov. 15 and this was my 7 week ultrasound so you can't see much. I'm 9 weeks now and we go back tomorrow to hear the heartbeat. I know a lot can happen in the first trimester and most people frown on announcing this this early but I'm just so excited I can barely contain myself! ETA: I did just change my name also so +5 if you figure out who I am:D

    Tonight when I get home... and it's not scary, well some night think it is, but I don't! And it'll no longer be a secret like Mike said, so it'll be ok.

    Perhaps this is a language barrier? Sanctuary: A place of refuge or safety, or immunity from arrest. It would be difficult for a uniform to become a sanctuary.

    I have not heard of it, but I think it's a great idea. EMS is a very physically demanding profession and so it makes sense to begin teaching physical training and wellness early on so that once you hit the field as a provider, the habits have already been formed and you can continue to stay in shape.

    Tragic. I've driven through that town on my way north before. I really hope they recover the victims soon and the families and town can begin to heal.
