I think my first call was a 747 that crashed into a bus full of hemophiliacs......After which we circled the wagons and fixed all the caved in faces.... Sorry for the sarcasm....it's 0530am and I just read a few to many first call stories....623

I think it is funny that they say you don't get a lot of serious calls, yet almost everyone here had a serious first call.....

My first call was a mutual aid out of county call to an MVC where our patient had an open femur fracture.

Ok I'll be honest. My first FD call was an ederly woman w/ab pain. Our trouble was the ambulance got stuck behind a train, so we took her vitals over and over and wrote down her long list of meds for 20 minutes. Awkward.

My first call during clinicals was put out as a cardiac or respiratory arrest. Turned out to be a DOA. Guy hung himself then two adolescents found his body and called us. Second call that day was for a 49 year old fall victim unable to walk.

QUOTE (akahoodlummedic)And really, is it even possible to circle only one wagon? :?

I guess you never saw the "Wagon Train" sequence from "Blazing Saddles"? The sheriff's family, being non-white, had to form their own circle when the Indians attacked. Mel Brooks, as an Indian chief, looks at them, and asks "Schvartzes?" (Sorry, despite my Jewish background, I don't know how to spell it in English)
