I have been looking around for a good nylon belt. With Chief Supply I ordered a Uncle Mikes belt, but it has been on back order for 3 weeks and will be for another 2. My pants are from Aspen Mills (for reference if you have them). What would you suggest for a belt? Thanks.

Try ebay. Search duty belt, belt liner, or nylon belt, etc. If you already know you want uncle mikes search it.

Thanks. I talked to some other people and ordered an Uncle Mike's Nylon Duty Belt, not exactly what I was looking for but will make it work. Thanks for the input!

All of our uniforms and boots come from Galls. We don't have a choice because our employer purchases our uniforms up to $315 a year. If we want to purchase our own items, such as belts and other duty equipment, we may do that on our own and purchase from any company that we wish.

Galls

I looked for duty belts at Galls.com and this is what I came up with. Hope it helps. Good luck.

Meh... I've never understood the need to have a special belt. If my employer wanted me to have one, he'e either provide it or specify it. So-called duty belts just scream "wanker".

Daniel: What kind of belt do you have?

Mr. Miyagi: J.C. Penney! $5.95! You like?

Nuff said.

Dust,

I know what you mean, but I have terrible luck with belts. I have tried the cheap ones, they fall a part quickly. I thought something more designed for the EMS scene might work a little better and last longer. I was thinking nylon since it is washable and seems to last awhile.

Your EMS scene is that hard on belts? We're issued belts, leather, with a metal buckle. No ridiculous EMS/God belt buckle, but a standard, buy anywhere buckle. I have one that's six or seven years old, it's still in very wearable condition. Then again, I only carry my pager and my truck fob (small little road safety key) on it. If it's not required, I don't wear it on my belt. I don't need that crap snagging on everything when I'm trying to work. My drug keys? Well, that's why I have front pockets.

I'm not in the field yet. I am starting paramedic school in 4 weeks. I am just hard on belts in general. I wear them a lot and in medic school I have to wear a uniform. I am looking for something that will last me through medic school and for several years after that. I am looking for something simple but durable. Nothing ridiculous.
