Want to draw up Amio without the bubbles?

One of the guys in my ACP class showed us this today. If you use a blunt tip on your syringe for drawing up amio then you can pull it in as fast as you want and you won't get any bubbles!

Go ahead and try it for yourself.

I'll have to try that!

...Although I tried to use a blunt tip to draw up Ativan last week and ended up pushing the freaking rubber stopper (what you put the needle through) all the way through into the vial. Whoops... had to explain that one to the pharmacy. Our Amio vials are pretty small, I wonder if the same thing wouldn't happen...

Geez, you guys give Amio pre-hospital? We're still stuck in the dark ages, only have Lido here..... :x

Go big or go home.

That's why I always push Amio and Lido together on all patients with ectopy.

Hilarity and hijinks ensue. :D

So how do you figure out which one worked so you can start a drip of it afterward?

Why just patients with ectopy, it can be fun on all patients. Excessive toe jam? Lido/Amio and Isoproterenol just for S&G's.
