New Contest - running until Jan 31

[Just Plain Ruff]

sorry to everyone who had done some work on the project.

I try to do something good and beneficial to the entire city yet there were 3-4 people who had nothing but negative things to say.

"it's too much like work"

it's too much work for too little prize

so you can thank those who complained.

It still is a good learning experience if you think you will ever be tasked by your service to spec out an ambulance.

So you let 3-4 whiners get to you to the point where you totally call off a contest that was a City wide announcement? I don't get it, Ruff! Did you NOT expect some to be like "this is work"? I did... but that's me. Did they harass you by PM so much you didn't want to deal with it anymore? If so, that sucks for those of us who actually were working on the contest. I'm really bummed. And surprised, to be honest.

Not bitching at you, just an off day and yet another thing that sucks.

Some of us have been a wee bit cynical about you for quite awhile.

You've got 119 posts here at EMT City, but this is only the third one in an EMS related category. All the rest are your daily jokes in the "Funny Stuff" forum. Kind of hard to take you seriously when you have never contributed anything of intelligent value to this forum in your entire time here. Your very first post in the EMS Discussion forum is to bash somebody who is trying to stimulate a little intelligent thought and discussion. Way to go. I'd ban you if I could.

ok after discussing this little set back with my wife and her calmness prevails as well as a coment from Wendy

the contest is back on.

The people who bitched and complained are hereby banned from the contest and if they send an entry it will not be considered.

For the rest of you, please continue to do the contest and we'll see where it goes.

Thank you Ruff. While I do not expect to be able to get mine done I do feel this is a great learning experience. Having been thru the process in reality it would have been nice to have had some practice before to make it easier. Wish all the best. I still wish i could get the signed Dale Dubin, that book has made a huge impact on my EKG education.

I'm in the same boat Wendy is, I have been working on mine as I have time. I am up to five pages right now and expect a few more before I am done. Is the Jan 31st date still the day?

Which is why I haven't posted much lately. I got tired of seeing joke after joke thread, or the same threads recycled time after time. Also I got tired of people asking for help, googling and researching something for them, and then getting no reply or even a thank you. The time some us give to the City is precious, I work full time and go to college full time yet I was finding time to post here. Yeah I post some garbage but I have always tried to answer serious questions when I could. I have tried to help the new people when I could only to be bitched at or ignored because it was not the answers they wanted to hear. It comes down to three types of people in here now those of us who have been there, those who are willing to learn and a bunch of whackers who want to hear about 'cool calls'. It's the whackers that almost ruined this contest.

On my part, sorry Ruff for not posting that I was working on this contest. Maybe next time all those working on a contest should post it so Ruff knows.
