Well here are some brief facts about the service.

We are a small all volunteer service *donning fire suit now* that runs about 120-150 calls a year. We have a PSA that covers a population of a little over 15000 in a roughly 100sq mile area. Approx 12000 of that population rests in a town that is covered by a hospital based primary service we cover only under mutual aid.

Our primary recieving hospitals are each roughly 10 miles from the community we serve, both a straight shot in either direction on the main highway running through town. Fairly easy drive for the rig.

The rig is a little over 12 years old now, and only has a little over 70000 miles on it. The box is all but brand new. No rust and paint is still good for the most part though we are changing colors.

It is a Braun rig and the refit will be completed by North Central Ambulance in Lester Prairie MN. They have refit vehicles for most of the major services in the upper midwest and are well qualified to complete the task.

As for changes considered, I am not looking so much for suggestions of gutting cabinets or cutting new doors into the rig, it is functional in that respect for our needs. I like suggestions such as the ZiCo O2 tank bracket, and giving consideration to moving the cot mount to the center of the floor. We also will be refitting cabinet doors to allow inventory tag locks on the doors to verify stock.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
