LOL! Obviously not the ghetto, where most kids are raised by their Grandmother or Aunt.

Wanna talk about heartbroken, check out Father's Day in the ghetto.

Ah, Father's Day, also known as Baby Daddy Day....the most confusing day in the City of Newark.....

Not exactly the same thing...But...

I came home from clinicals the other night...on the end of my 2 1/2 year marathon to become a paramedic, wearing an AMR jacket I'd borrowed for clinicals. I love it when I get home and Dylan says, "Look momma! Daddy's home!"

I walked in the other night and he yelled, "Look mom! Daddy is a fireman!!"

I think I'm leave the jacket in the car from now on...

To him you're just "mom" and forgets you're a Paramedic. As he get's older I'm sure he'll realize how much more you actually do.

That is such a good point, I think. It's also a huge compliment to you. He sees you first as a mother and then as a medic. That's called getting your priorities right!

Don't let this get you down. He will learn as he gets older.

Wow, excellent point! Your child knows you as what you are most to him, which is "mom". On the other hand, all he has of dad is the fantasy. Although it is an initial disappointment, I completely agree with WM that this is a compliment to you.
