When I originally heard about this, I tried to keep an open mind...maybe the fire dept isn't being supportive...maybe this guy has been in the dept for years and is just now being forced to do this.

This guy has only worked there a little less than one year and he was still on probation when the rules changed! Just go find a different job if you can't do yours.

The fire dept has actually tried to help him from a mental health aspect.

Silly hose monkey...go find a job where you only have to play with fire, leave the patient care to those who are trainable.
