I used to really enjoy JEMS, but now unfortunately I find it just doesn't cater to my level of need for knowledge. It seems to be a magazine for EMT-Bs and volunteers these days.

Don't forget firemonkeys. That would rate above both EMT'Bs and vollies. Almost every photograph in there -- even the staged ones -- are of firemonkeys.

Actually an on-line EMS magazine was done last year with two issues electronically published on another EMS forum by several regular contributors here.

It is hard to get all material together and meet dead lines, etc. Not that it can't be done and would welcome it and help. Just realize the time needed to do it right.....

Let's be fair though Dust, is it not true that by far the largest percentage of EMS providers in the U.S. have a secondary role of fir suppression? So wouldn't it make sense that the majority of the photographs would be of said type?

Also, I notice there are a lot of Calgary EMS pics for some reason.

You know, I used to feel the same. In fact, it might have been me that started the thread. It just seems that the last few months it had much more content that captured my interest...I'll start to pay better attention and attempt to be more objective.

Dwayne - as a medic student, how the heck do you have time to read anything besides school stuff?

I sure as heck don't - maybe you are much smarter than me ?

If your in medic school and all you have time to read is school stuff you need to manage your time better. I'm all for dedication to school work, but give yourself a break, read something mindless, go fishing, beat your kids, something.

You could give it a shot, they have both taken years of martial arts, their mom wanted them to do dance or cheerleading, but they prefer to break stuff and hurt things.....Strange girls I tell you.

Right on.. I do Chang hun (WTK) style here in Wisconsin and Songham (ATA) style in Arizona. MY 9 year old granddaughter is a couple of belts above me but I can still whip her butt... not for long tho... sigh

I haven't been to training in 3 months. My first priority when I graduate (May of this year) is to get back at it.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
