Charles A. Norris :D

May 23, 1919 - April 5, 2008

INDIANAPOLIS — Charles A. Norris, 88, former Markleville resident, died April 5, 2008, at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis, following an extended illness.

Charles served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a retired employee of Nicholson File in Anderson, and a retired farmer.

Survivors include his sister, Ellen McFarland; three nephews; a stepdaughter, Emelia Etchison of Anderson; three granddaughters; and a stepniece.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mable Norris.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 .m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

There used to be, back in, I think, 1968, a black comedian by the name of George Wallace, who's main part of his act was referencing his namesake, the racist, white, then candidate for POTUS!
