A lot of unanswered questions there, but an interesting story. It will be interesting as well to see how it plays out within the scientific community as the video's claims are validated or disproved. If validated I'd think we should be hearing much more about this lady....

This story is interesting to me for several reasons.

1): The down time would appear to be extended. I would like to know the presenting rhythm and what specific treatment modalities and patient response occurred per EMS.

2): What problems did the hospital identify? What techniques did they utilize? From what I gather, some type of hypothermic treatment was instituted.

3): The patients age. This was not a young patient.

4): What has been identified as the cause of the arrest? Perhaps this is most interesting. If you recall, the end of the video states that no blockages of her arteries were identified. So, we may be dealing with an atypical etiology. (Vasospasm, medication related, aberrant conduction, etc) It is known that some types of arrest respond better to treatment with better outcomes. Could the cause of the arrest and the treatment used lead to a better outcome for the type of arrest identified?

Perhaps we will hear more about this patient. Then again, HIPPA is always around the corner.
