DwayneEMTP Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 One thing that I think is important to remember is that she is still in this level of distress after at LEAST 20 min. probably closer to 30min. (with the time it would take her to call and dispatch to come down the line.) So basic measures might not work at this point and more aggressive treatment might be warranted. Man...great point! I don't see where folks are getting anaphylaxis, but this would completely change my immediate thinking... Dwayne
Richard B the EMT Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 We do have some really smart idiots. I use as my example, the man who designs triggers for the nukes on an ICBM, but cannot figure out how to operate an electric can opener.
ERDoc Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Large doses of cinnamon can cause dyspnea. Cinnamon oil has been used to get high and can have some serious side effects including flash pulmonary edema. Probably not much to do for this girl except oxygen and wait and watch.
Kaisu Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 maybe make sure your CPAP is set up and ready to go.. keep listening to lung sounds..
