A question for those of you working on ground-based ALS services out there. Do any of you carry Cardizem? Is the type you carry powdered, pre-mixed, etc? Does it need to be refrigerated? Do you have a protocol for a maintenance drip?

Thanks!

We carry the powder with special partial fill iv bags. they don't need refrigerated that way. when we had to switch to this the other option given to us by our distributer; was to buy the liquid. They said you don't have to refrigerate it but it is only good for 30 days. so the initial plan was buy a box of 10 vials keep it in the fridge and trade it out on the 1st of every month. We didn't have to do this because the special iv bags came in first. ( They were on back order ). We have to patch to give it right now.

We carry the premixed vials in the new baby fridge on the ambulance. Also kept in the fridge, succs, ativan, fluids and ice cream when you get a call from the grocery parking lot.
