CBEMT Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Ok, so when the t-bone impact damages the retracting mechanism, how do you extricate? You can't use the Jaws for a door pop because spreading from the point where the door meets the body won't open the door.
Christopher.Collins Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Fortunatley CB, Im sure we wont be seeing something like this on every new car... for a long time at least. We filthy rich Americans are to busy buying gas just to get us to work to buy more gas these days that Im sure we wont be spending money to add this option to grandmas neon lol. I will say its a rather cool concept though... Id rather have that than the flip up doors on a lambo or ferrarii, imagine roll overs?
Upton4785 Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Yeah, there's definitely safety problems to overcome, but the idea is damn cool nonetheless.
Defiant1 Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 looks cool, but would probably require turning it into a "convertible" to get the people out in an accident if you can't open the door  , but just think how fast it would go with just 4 pillars to cut
Richard B the EMT Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 What about a DeLorian, with the gull wing doors?
Defiant1 Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 What about a DeLorian, with the gull wing doors? if you mean in the "no ding" area, they can still cause them because of the fact they still have an area that the need clear in order to open far enough to allow someone to get out
