My former high school social studies teacher sent me these:

BELIEVE it or not ,

These are REAL 911 Calls!

Dispatcher: 9-1-1 What is your emergency?

Caller: I heard what sounded like gunshots coming from the brown house on the corner.

Dispatcher: Do you have an address

Caller: No, I have on a blouse and slacks, why?

Dispatcher: 9-1-1 What is your emergency?

Caller: Someone broke into my house and took a bite out of my ham and cheese sandwich .

Dispatcher: Excuse me?

Caller: I made a ham and cheese sandwich and left it on the kitchen table and when I came back from the bathroom, someone had taken a bite out of it.

Dispatcher: Was anything else taken?

Caller: No, but this has happened to me before and I'm sick and tired of it!

Dispatcher: 9-1-1 What is the nature of your emergency?

Caller: I'm trying to reach nine eleven but my phone doesn't have an eleven on it.

Dispatcher: This is nine eleven.

Caller: I thought you just said it was nine-one-one

Dispatcher: Yes, ma'am nine-one-one and nine-eleven are the same thing.

Caller: Honey, I may be old, but I'm not stupid.

My Personal Favorite!!!

Dispatcher: 9-1-1 What's the nature of your emergency?

Caller: My wife is pregnant and her contractions are only two minutes apart

Dispatch: Is this her first child?

Caller: No, you idiot! This is her husband!

And the winner is..........

Dispatcher: 9-1-1

Caller: Yeah, I'm having trouble breathing. I'm all out of breath.. Darn....I think I'm going to pass out.

Dispatcher: Sir, where are you calling from?

Caller: I'm at a pay phone. North and Foster.

Dispatcher: Sir, an ambulance is on the way. Are you an asthmatic?

Caller: No

Dispatcher: What were you doing before you started having trouble breathing?

Caller: Running from the Police.

Those are all anthologized in a book titled "What's the Number for 911 Again?" and there are many more like it in there. Pretty funny stuff!

I remember hearing one where someone didn't know that 9-1-1 is not 4-1-1, so he called in looking to get the number of a pizza place.

Another one that's priceless is the one where a lady called 9-1-1 to get the cops to come to her location because the manager of a burger place wouldn't give her a refund.

We'd get several people call 911 to get weather info if a storm was coming. We just told them to watch the Weather Channel.

While still an incorrect reason to call 9-1-1, at least I understand the reason for that erroneous call

OK I am sure you have all heard this one, but for those who have not.

9-1-1 what is your emergency

My husband has been shot and is dead *screaming*

Ma'am I need you to calm down

I can't calm down HE'S DEAD

Ma'am an ambulance is on the way, is he breathing?

I don't know

Ok ma'am let's make sure

Ok hang on *loud gunshot heard in the background*

Caller comes back on the line..... OK I'm sure he's dead now, what would you like me to do next

Was up chatting with dispatch and one of the dispatchers mentioned a caller (911) who wanted to have dispatch call his friend to pick him up two packs of cigarettes and some sprite. The caller explained that he couldn't afford to pay for service for his cell, so 911 was the only number he could dial.
