What about any links on a Student who wants to become a Medic or emt?
Dustdevil Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 What about any links on a Student who wants to become a Medic or emt? There are only three links you need: http://www.caahep.org/Find_An_Accredited_Program.aspx http://www.nremt.org http://www.emtcity.com But really, those people don't need web research. They need to get out and do REAL job market research in their own area to determine if there are even any EMS jobs to be had there (which there frequently are not, since it is monopolised by firemonkeys and vollies), and if those jobs pay enough for you to live on (which they usually do not). If every potential student did that simple thing before wasting money on EMT school, we'd have a lot fewer disappointed people and a much more stable workforce.
sirduke Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 Damn it, hate having to agree with Dust so much, but he is dead on target. Research before you jump in with both feet. The turn over rate is insane, people get in without a real idea of the demands and the low pay, then whine and complain. Either that, or they realize that it isn't like TV and there is a hell of a lot more to the job than they bargained for.
