Excellent idea. It's refreshing to see researchers take and entirely different approach when the same old same old just isn't working.

I agree. If this really does work then Aids might be a thing of the past. What a terrible disease. I watched my next door neighbor die of it and also a 2nd cousin. Both got it the old fashioned way. But it was such a waste for them to die. Very similar to cancer if you ask me.

According to a TV programme I saw ages ago this DELTA 32 gene is the same one that prevented some people catching the Black Death in the middle ages. If I remember correctly researchers discovered some evidence to suggest that if one parent passed on the D32 gene then the patient would catch the Black Death but recover, if both both parents passed on the Gene then the "patient" would never catch the Black Death. In the same programme they showed a man in San Fransisco who had lost alot of friends to AIDS and who even though he had the risks he never caught it. It showed researchers adding HIV contaminated blood to Dozens of his blood samples and the HIV never took hold.
