I'd have to say that if they work together as partners then they would be out of service at the time of the accident. I would think that it would be handled as if you were in a truck that was struck while en route to a call. Contact the sup. call O.O.S., and dispatch the next closest unit to the original call.

No way that a lone paramedic, who's already worried about their injured partner, should leave and head to that original call in the middle of the fustercluck that has eaten my home town for the moment. Political affiliations aside, that thing is a mess and rather inconvenient for most of the denizens of Denver.

Stay with your partner, call dispatch, get a new team dispatched. What the article didn't say is if it was a hit and run...

I always say something that pisses the "I'd give my life for anyone, them before me" people off.. and the public.

Us Before Them, Me Before You. My safety, our safety; is more important to me, than the patients. Clearly I'll do everything in my power to use all of my skills to help someone and keep them safe. But if one of our guys goes down, I'm aiding him-or making sure he or she is being care for, before I move on.
