OH NO! Duck! You're going to bring down a whole bunch on ya.

Allow me to sum up. Since EMT-Basic training is so short and lacking in depth or comprehensiveness, the experienced gained does not add significantly to your education because there is no foundation in A&P, patho, pharm, etc to build upon. Therefore the experience gained as a basic is of limited utility without a good Paramedic education. And this is what spenac was likely getting at and what you'll hear from some others on here. I haven't been here long and it's a pretty common theme.
