We had a guy like that, kept his car spotless. One of the guys took a dump on a plastic plate, and then put it in a ziplock bag, and sealed all but about an inch of the bag, so just a little odor would leak out at a time. Put it under his passenger seat, it took him four days to figure out why his car was stinking.

I saw something similiar and the partys that placed the stinky item ended up have to pay for his interior to be replaced as some odors to not go away.

This is the stupidist worse than childlike actions I have ever heard of. Thank goodness you are out of EMS crotch or I would have to ask you to leave it.

Getting it on my uniform isn't the problem. Inhaling scented powder, getting it into my lungs, is a very good way to trigger bronchoconstriction in me. I'm sensitive to fragrances. I cope just fine with the hazards of my job, thank you, I don't need bored coworkers adding another one. I shouldn't be anywhere near toxic smoke, or if I must be, I should be wearing the proper PPE. As for chemical hazards, I shouldn't be on a hazmat site that hasn't been cleared. See above statement.

As far as pooping into a bag and putting it in your crew-mate's car goes, that's a health hazard! Jesus Christ! What is wrong with you? How in hell could you even BEGIN to consider that funny?

We're not too tightly wound- we want our profession to be PROFESSIONAL. Does that mean I'm going to be anal about jokes on shift? You betcha. Am I going to get huffy if someone's cracking dirty jokes around me? No... but anything that involves physical manipulation or entrapment without knowledge is STUPID!

That's it. I'm done playing the game. You're a troll, and that's all there is to it. You double talk and try to pretend you didn't really say what you said and you never back down from any position, no matter how ridiculously moronic it is. Keep it up- you're well on your way to being banished back to under the bridge that you snuck out from under.

I agree with Spenac on this. I am all for a fun work environment, but you need to be professional. Horseplay gets people hurt and if you (the provider) gets hurt, what good are you doing the patient (the people you are trained to help.) EMS is about professionalism. If we want our profession to grow and continue to be a profession, then we have to be professional while doing it. Horseplay and practical jokes are not part of that. You want to have fun at work? That's fine, crack a joke or two. Bored at work? Play a game that makes you think, sit down and read a book, go over you're skills, wash your rigs, make sure you look professional. Don't dick off and act like a teenager.

Crothcity, you said you were against the hydrant testicle thing, but I'm guessing that you at some point found it funny, because otherwise I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have posted it on here...

I think there is a fine line between practical jokes and dangerous horseplay but the line is NOT invisible. I was all for the KY on the door handle - the stuff is water soluble and is pretty easy to cope with. The water on the seat was ok too... especially in the desert where stuff dries really fast. The Arby's sauce was close to the line in my opinion, but it was in two gloves only. Pretty easy to deal with. I know what this tomfoolery did do - we are all newcomers on the shift and it did bring us all together in a way that hadn't happened before. I know it was good for our morale and I know that no one was hurt. I sincerely believe that it will not go beyond this. I KNOW that we had a pretty good discussion afterwards about what was out of line and what wasnt. I am looking forward to my shifts with these people and I think they are pretty happy to see me walk through the door too.

Lighten up Frances, I said I always asked myself if I would laugh at the joke if it happened to me, before I would participate. With that being said, it is obvious that many of us are scared of the PC Police, so if it makes you feel comfortable, I will say that all practical jokes should be banned from the workplace, because they are unprofessional (but somehow watching sex acts is professional), and I realize that no one in this forum would lower themselves to participating in a practical joke.

With that being said, you should be able to tell us about the funniest practical joke that you know of, but DID NOT participate in.

Nope because some idiot would go try it. As to watching sex at work that should not be done either.
