A question came up from a fellow EMSer in my area about CPR criteria in Canada. If anyone can answer this Id appreciate it.

I remember reading an article where theyre were studies being done on "criteria" needed in order to start cpr... i think out of canada. from wat i remember the article was saying that if three criteria wasnt met then CPR would be useless in reviving the pt. I think it was a witness arrest, dfib in five minutes, and ALS in ten... not sure.... anyone have any further info on this, or an opinion if they're familiar?

I cannot comment on the rest of Canada but that certainly is not the criteria to start CPR in British Columbia.

Nah, that statement is bullshit. If anything, there is more emphasis put on CPR here than anything. As far as I know we have the same guidelines for CPR as the USA.
