Yes, to the respected agencies.

I have a big concern for people who go into countries and utilize health care programs when they are not citizens, or are fresh off the boat so to speak and able to access the same services I can, yet I am a citizen for life, I pay my taxes I work a regular hour'd job. On the same token, has health care ever been free? In the history of health care? Should it cost you money to be healthy? To get immunizations, annual check ups, clinic visits, specialist visits,a ride in an ambulance or whatever it may be? Neither of these things are free, they are either covered by green shield, blue cross or whatever your health plan is FOR CITIZENS. I probably sound like a blue collared asshole, but that's how I roll....

Not always true. I have been to MANY MVC's involving UDA's and high speed chases. I'm not commenting on how appropriate these chases are, other than to say, they happen. This does lead to a DIRECT and IMMEDIATE threat to public safety, as ultimately they tend to end in badness. Other than that, in the Southern Arizona area, UDA's break into people's homes all the time (general statement, have known 1 person whose house was broken into no less than 4 times by UDA's in 1 year, several guns and cars were taken). But it is not that uncommon. So...it's not an accurate threat. Besides, what about a threat to themselves?

EDIT: Reference the 1 person whose house was broken into, I know many others, he's just been lucky enough to have repeat visitors.

That is what I was talking about, But you said it so much better! :)

The is the stupidest topic ever on these forums.

And your point is? :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

If any health care provider here would inform the cops that his or her patient is an illegal immigrant would be directly loose the license due to the fact that especially health care providers have very strict rules on the professional discretion.

Technically the cops weren't even allowed to use this information (although of course most of them would schedule a routine check or something like that.... :( ).

By federal and state laws were only allowed to inform the cops when we gain knowledge about so called "severe crimes" like rape, murder, arson, child abuse which has not been commited yet. In cases of crimes already commited the rules are even harder, in this case is has to be something like "terrorism", murder, etc.

Even in cases of rape or heavy assault we're not allowed to inform the cops as long as the victim shows no sign of aberration.

Child abuse is a very strongly discussed topic here. By federal law child abuse is not a "crime which is a severe danger to the public" and so we are normally not allowed to report it to the law enforcement. BUT: Due to a series of child abuse with death results they changed the law that Doctors are allowed to report it under special circumstances. AND we're not allowed to leave a child which needs help at home (in some special cases even together with the cops and against the will of the parents). So: Technically we're not reporting child abuse..We're just transporting the abused child to someone who is able to inform the cops.

Here we have to report all child abuse, elder abuse, rapes, and assults. Where are you from?

1) New York State is a mandatory reporting state for suspected child abuse. LEOs, EMTs, Paramedics, Teachers, and probably Fire Fighters, are mandated to make such reports.

2) Speaking to the subject of reporting illegal aliens who happen to also be patients, would that not violate the HIPPA standards, rules and regulations?

Well Richard I do not think its a HIPPA violation because you aren't disclosing any health care information just the fact that they are suspected to be an illegal alien. But I could be wrong its been known to happen before. When I have the time if someone does not do it before I get the chance I will see what I can find out. That is a good question.

Yeah they were lost in the interweb when admin changed it over. So the laws on reporting these incidents over there is different than the states maybe you can educate us on some of the ways ems is different there.

So heres the case. You are called for a heart attack. A patient that has no ID walks up to ambulance and says chest hurts. You run 12 lead and find PSVT, 200pulse, BP 146/100, cool, pale, moist skin, resp 24, clutching chest, but can still talk in short sentences. So in talking you realize obviously this guy needs medical care but also that he is illegally in the USA.

So what would you do? Treat him? Refuse him? Report him? Take him to hospital and say nothing? What?

Treat the poor guy and transport him to the hospital.

His illegal status is none of my business.

I resent having to spend a lot of money and waiting one and a third years for my wife to LEGALLY be allowed into the US from China.

And I am angry at illegals having babies they cannot afford and burdening our healthcare system.

But I also feel compassion for them.

They perform exhaustive manual labor that I have dreaded doing part time.

I also wish they were not constantly in fear. Seeing my POV with emergency lights, (I'm a volunteer firefighter) some appear scared that I am some kind of authority

capable of detaining and arresting them.

Their's are hard lives and I try to help them with kindness and assistance.

Why am I now receiving notices of topics to which I have not responded?

How do I stop them?

Thank you.

I mentioned getting medical care when in a foreign country.

I have 3rd party medical coverage. If I'm getting ready to travel internationally, I ask the insurance company, and on their recommendation, would buy traveler's insurance that includes in-country medical care, and medical evacuation back to the US if needed.

I don't have any plans to leave the US except on vacations.
