If your coke head has a sore throat, swollen lymph glands and fever, be on alert for the possibility that their cocaine may have been laced with levamisole, which is a veterinary medication used as an antiparasitic. It's a problem, and people are dying from it.

Just an FYI, just saw it on the news...

Not to be the bastard of the room, but it's not a hazmat issue so it's hard to be concerned when the guy snorting coke complains of a sore throat. I'm not questioning the fact that you posted this, but it seems odd that it was on the news as this doesn't seem to be a new issue.

Thanks Wendy.

Here in west Texas we had something happen like this as well about a year ago. You would think th epeople selling would make sure what they cut with didn't hurt the customers so they would get repeat business.

Repeat business is what its all about in the drug kingdom. They can't sell it to dead junkies ;) .

It is something to be aware of because it may change your report to your doc, and it may change the treatment of the patient. Regardless of whether they're a junkie or not, you have to provide the best care possible with the best info you can get. Hence why I posted this. It's always good to know that there's a laced batch of something circulating.

New as far as I'm aware, there's been a rash of cases.
